I used my credit card to purchase a trial bottle of a diet aid called?

"Colon Cure". It was $3.95 charge for shipping. Now they are sending me a 30 day supply every month and billing my credit card. They said I allowed them to do this when I ordered a trial. I didn't see anything about it . I called them and my credit card. I have returned the bottle to the them. The credit card company said they cannot stop them from charging it to me but they will dispute the charges if they are made. Should I completely cancel my credit card.

Thanks Boogie. I thought I had actually read it all. I have seen many complaints about the same problem from this company. One said there was
mention of this buried in small print but most said it was not mentioned. They also told me they were a member of BBB. I checked. They're not and have quite a few complaints.

thats the problem with ordering stuff without actually reading what you are getting yourself into. and your credit card company should be able to unauthorize and unwanted payments, mine did when someone stole my id. and you should just prob. cancel the card if they wont help you. call them back and say that you will cancel your card becasue of that and see how fast they change their mind about helping you out.

I would document everything... from the first time you made the purchase to all of your conversations you've had with anyone/ institutions regarding this. Keep records of names and dates and what was said. I would make sure the credit card company disputes their charges (call them and find out what the protocol is for disputing a charge- do exactly what they tell you). I would formally send them a letter canceling your order. Once they receive your letter (certified with signature), the must stop the order. You may be charged for what was used/sent to you but they cannot continue to bill you. Make sure you pay your credit card!!!! Important. Even though you dispute a charge...if you don't pay your credit card, your credit will get tarnished.

Nothing in life is free and this just proves it.

If you ever decide to make a purchase like this again, be sure to take the extra time to get a prepaid card and order it that way.

Send the company a registered letter requesting that they cancel this shipment in additon to making the phone call.

Quite a few companies operate this way (proactiv comes to mind)

Did you order it online? A lot of times companies will slip some tiny verbage in there somewhere saying that with the purchase you consent to some subscription. Working in the banking industry I've seen a lot of people get duped by this. Always be careful when buying things or signing up for things online or even at the register. Siging up for some promo can get you into something you didn't want. Read all the fine print. Good luck! I'd cancel the card.
