I missed a decade of general hospital? |
the last time i watched General Hospital....Robin Scorpio had aids. yesterday i watched it for the first time in over 10 years and there she was talking about having a baby...then i saw a commercial of her in bed with someone....ummmm was she cured on the show? No! she still has the virus to the aids epidemic. She is HIV positive. This has been coming up quite a bit on the Internet tonight about robin and her disease. She keeps her disease under control with some kind of pill regiment. But - now - she is involved with Patrick drake. He is Noah drakes son. Robin and Patrick's love story is timeless. They fell in love when all the odd where against them. Now - Patrick when he first came into the picture has commitment issues. And he still does. Robin wants a commitment from him and she wants to build a life with him. And he is still hung up on commitment issues. And that is what is keeping them apart. Patrick just wants to see robin with out tall that commit tent attached to it. If he loves her enough to want to build a life with her. He has to be willing to give up something in return too. However, Patrick loves robin - but he is not willing to give up anything in return. So that is what has been happening with robin within the last ten years. She's HIV positive, they still make it an important part of all the decisions she makes. She's been on the viral drugs. She is still HIV positive. Robin has had lovers in the past, she just has to be careful and use lots of protection. They did a whole arc about it when her and Jason became lovers. As for a baby, HIV positive women are able to carry a healthy baby if they take the viral drugs. Something to do with the blood passes from child to mother but not vice versa. The baby is a greatest risk of exposure to the virus from the mother during the actual birth. Robin only tested postive for HIV. She has had a new relationship and the guy she was with had an AIDS scare but not due to her. He is a surgeon and was helping an AIDS patient. She wants him to have a family with her but he doesn't want kids. No, she has HIV and practices safe sex, she lives normally. Wow! You've missed so much. I think your best bet is to read recaps, it'll take a while. Here are some links. She's still HIV+. It's entirely possible for a woman with HIV to have a healthy baby. The show has consistently said that Robin's viral load is nearly undetectable, so as long as precautions are taken (she'd have to have a C-section, for example) the chances of her passing it on to a baby are extremely low. Dr. Robin Scorpio is HIV+, she does NOT have AIDS!!!!!! |
