beside-himself Bill Clinton has leaped atop the barricades and is furiously plotting a cure - or coup.

The mention of "Hillary" was in the news article...I'd call her carpet bagger.

Nobody knows more about politics than Bill Clinton does; And if Bill Clinton thinks his wife is in trouble - His wife is in trouble.

But frankly, For someone who I know is, on some level, as politically astute as Bill Clinton is; His wife is in trouble now because of how politically tone deaf she - AND he - have seemed since leaving the White House. It's not just that Obama is such a charismatic fresh face - The Clintons have not properly positioned themselves or defended their positions on the issues in recent years; Particularly the Iraq war. I might have been able to live with some discomfort over Hillary's initial vote for it in the Senate; But to have her defend it all this time, And suddenly the story seems to change - The former President himself recently told her supporters in public speeches He was against the war from the beginning-! That certainly wasn't his - or his wife's - tune then; Or even as recently as last year. That story shifted me from indecision to Obama's camp; And seeing the Clinton campaign go negative (And in petty ways - Their chief complaint with Obama is that he wanted to be President since he was a kid?? How can the Clintons criticize anybody for that-?!!) now that they are behind has cemented me there. And I was an ardent supporter of the Clintons in the 90's - The kind they cannot afford to lose.

So Bill should be concerned - Because he and Hillary have given a very solid Presidential prospect (And Clinton knows one when he sees one) in Obama just the ammunition necessary for a monumental upset...

And to tie my analysis into the answer to your question; I have always thought those that were not capable of WINNING the job were probably not capable of doing it well, either. Not that those who've won it have always done well; Just that I think it's a reasonable assumption that dealing with the pressures of a Presidential campaign is nothing compared to dealing with the actual pressures of the Presidency.

Bill can't wait to get his hands on some White House interns.

First, ***please*** stop calling her "Hillary". It's something her handlers came up with a decade ago whilst running for Senator, all cute and touchy-feely. Please *do* call her "Senator Clinton", or as I prefer with a distinctly Nixonian twist "The Junior Senator from New York".

Anyhow, you make an excellent point. Her campaign is a product of her handlers. Her presidency would be a product of her benefactors.

whoever runs usually gets the support of their family, bush had his daddy's help, mrs. clinton has her husband. mrs. clinton is capable of running her own race.

Well, for a person who 'can't run her own campaign', she is doing pretty well.

The fact is Hillary IS the Junior Senator from New York. Previous to running for that office, she had little to do with New York except for shopping and even less with it's politics. She has previously held NO elected office and is only just into her 2nd term. Her association with the law firm in Arkansas has yet to come up in this election. When it does, it will make Bush's National Guard records pale in comparison. This woman is perhaps the least honest Candidate to run for office in the last 50 years, beating out even her husband.

Actually, it is confusing to see her campaign so strong.
I remember bumper stickers saying, I voted for Clinton and her husband.
Wasn't he impeached?
A positive is that he's familiar with other countries leaders and never caused any horrible rifts anywhere.
She's going to have to deal with everything from a woman's stand point... which will be complicated in a lot of areas of the world.
I just really can't see her as a good pick. Though Clinton was a friendly president, he sure didn't improve anything.
