Are billions of U.S. dollars being wasted on international aid?

This is my opinion and I have nothing to back myself up because it is a recent, but I was wondering with all the trillions of dollars that are accumulating into the U.S. national debt why is the U.S. still spending billions on humanitarian aid. The money could be better used at home or investment in new medical technologies or cures for diseases.

The truth is I believe private and international organizations produce probably up to 2-4 times the aid that the U.S. government themselves directly provide. The amount the U.S. gives is probably just frosting on a cake. Half of the aid provided to these nations barely even reach the people any ways with the bureaucratic red tape and corruption. If it wasn't for those obstacles and inefficiencies of funds management, probably only half of the humanitarian aid provided to them would have been necessary. Isn't this a waste of money as it doesn't help the people and waste the money when it could be used more productively?

The intention is good, but it doesn't always materialize. There are millions of dollars given to governments, yet the money never trickles down to the citizen, and their crappy quality of life remains the same.

Aid should be 100% voluntary.

Property stolen to be given to foreign governments or groups is unconstitutional, but very popular among the politicians.

It isn't all wasted. And if you're really looking for billions of waste, look at the Pentagon. They LOST eight billion in Iraq and have no idea what happened to it!

Billions of tax dollars are no doubt wasted. But the problem is not with people not helping the poor but bad government and unscrouplous men who take the money meant to help the poor to be used to further their unjust wars against each other.
There would be no poor or starving in Africa or else where if the money spent on war and corruption by wicked men were eliminated. So as Jesus said, "the poor will always be with you until the end of days."

You should clean your own house first before you go and clean someone else's.
