Right now I'd say it's trying to keep everyone from killing each other. Long term I'd say global warming and overpopulation are the most important.

To be honest I think it is population which as a result you get a number of other problems some of which you mentioned!

Providing food for the 18,000 kids who die each day from hunger. The work to be done on this does involve changing governments that cause this tragedy.

That's an obvious one. President Bush and the all the Nazi's entrenched in the White House of course. These mass murderes and War Criminals are trying to start World War 3...!@!

I WOULD HAVE TO SAY IT'S HUNGER, BECAUSE IT EFFECTS EVERYONE!!!

Well-meaning philanthropists who go to the poor countries giving strange stuff to "poor " people who otherwise would have no idea that they are miserable. The "poor" people are happy people until they meet the strange foreigners who parade themselves and show off their riches. This leaves the natives so tounge-tied and awed that they start feeling sorry for themselves and tell their kids to become foreigners because it is just too miserable to stay in the native culture. There is no respect for culture and history. This problem is the erosion of native cultures, the disappearance of diversity. One day we will all be the same. We would all be white, wearing suits, t-shirts, sneakers and speaking English.
