Thrush getting me again?

Starting to get thrush again after years without it. The only change recently was amoxicillin prescribed for an ear ache. I have no STDs and certainly not AIDS.

In my case it starts out as soreness in the corners of my lips and turns into cracked open lips like a bad case of chapped lips. Again, no STDs. What might be the cause... and the cure?

Well its caused by a fungi, What problably happened was that the amoxicillin killed a lot of the local floral in your mouth. So the fungi just took advantage. Since the medicine was really active in that area it prolly had a systemic effect. If you see a doctor they will either give you a pill or a mouthwash to swish and swallow.

Antibiotics is the cause....the only cure I ever knew about was called gentian violet but that turns your mouth bright purple. Im sure you dont want that. Call your doc.

Go to a doctor and get a prescription antifungal medication. It should clear it up. As the previous poster wrote, the antibiotics are causing this.
