Why is marriage & Virginity b4 seen as so good? you can still get STDS, divorced, battered etc?

Why is marraige seen as such a good thing, all happily ever after and all that? And moral and cure for stds and unwanted pregnancy./


Firstly look at the domestic violence and divorce rates, Plus child abuse rates. if marriage was all perfect and lovely and moral none of that would occur as people would be blissful and happy.


Add to that how much you and parents are in debt and loose with the cost of such a big party, followed by a divorce followed by maintenace payments.

And simply staying in a marriage to make it work/for the kid aint good either. Ie allowing your self to get bashed, be miserable and hurt, by some submissive dormat and accept being cheated on.


Oh and if you look up the FACTs being marriied and even faithful does not protect against STDS completely.


They are blood borne which means they can enter woulds ie sports, fighting, first aids and that fighting mybe to protect others. Or say bumping into someone with an junkie needle. Or via eyes

Yes via eyes... Touch your eyes say something in them, and somone elses it can be transperfered or splashed in eyes.


And doctors where gloves. If you do first AIDS on someone odds are no gloves or goggles say if they are choking blood.


Plus no sex before marriage?

Well many 3rd base stuff can get you pregnant...


Ie sperm does not have to be transfered vais intercause... drips, dribbles, on fingers, sitting on wet patches will all do.


Plus if you can genuinely keep kmitts off each other then no feelings in that department surely and no passion.


Maybe one is gay. or you are best off mates and going with someone else.


Also you may not be compatable.

What a load of rubbish. You have a very bizarre view of life - maybe your experience so far has not been good. I do not recognise your version of events. And as for STDs being blood borne - who told you that. Sexually transmitted diseases are just that.

first i should say it's not a matter of being "so good" because of the STD's and all, but rather it is seen as a matter of being right. the decrease in the risk of STD's is just an outworking of doing right. (and yes, there is a decrease in the risk, that's not to say that it would completely remove the risk of STD's just by not having pre-marital sex.) it's a matter right and wrong and how God made us. he made us to work premiumly when we are doing right, and when things are not right they begin to break down.

pre-marital sex is just one thing that you listed wrong, that doesn't end the abuse and infidelity and divorce rates. those are all wrong things on their own that have to be addressed individually. this turned into a long answer and if you're still reading good work.

O.K. So if you think that way then maybe you shouldn't get married right now. But you're wrong.. Most women don't marry a loser that hits them and most decent people don't go around Drug addicts. O.K first lets look at the reasons people get married now days... ie oh look i had sex and now she is going to have a kid, i guess that means that i need be a man and marry her....this reason leads to problems later on like abuse , unfaithfulness, and divorce or lets look at the real reason you should get married you know the person and you LOVE them (not LUST), so you want to spend the rest of your life with them.that means that even after her good looks are gone you will still love her. Now as far as STDs if you only have one sex partner and that is all they have also then 99% of the time you want be exposed to them and you want have to worry so much.but if you or your partner has more than that you are going to have the odds going the other way cause you are not just having sex with her /him but everyone that they have and that causes a chain like a spider web.

Faithfulness to others has, surely, to be a good thing.

The basic premise of marriage is an excellent idea, ie 2 people joining together because of love, respect, companionship, with the goal to build a life together, raise a family(or not), and grow old together sharing life's joys and sorrows. Unfortunately in practise, this turns out to be a load of crap. All the recent hype about the sanctity of marriage and family is just another means of controlling people. Of all the families I have known, traditional and non-traditional, it is mostly the non-traditional ones that function the way a true marriage should. A marriage undertaken because it is the moral thing to do often ends up in abusive dysfunctional harmful states. A marriage that is entered out of love, and that is based on caring and compassion can work. Marriage is a personal choice like anything else. You either go into it for the right reasons and make it work, or you go into because it is the "right" thing to do, and you end up miserable.
