i think it is horrible,in church a priest onv=ce saidthat mother teresa asked god why he had done nothing to stop the horrible disease aids, and god's response was i created a child who would find the cure but that child was killed through abortion. every child has a reason for being born !

I don't like it. I consider it killing a human life, but it's their baby, not mine, so if they want to abort it, I can't do anything, even if I don't approve. Besides, what if you got pregnant by a rape or something?

Anyway, my opinion is that abortions should be safe, legal, and rare. Abortions in the third trimester should be illegalized though.

I think abortion is wrong, especially when the people had unprotected sex. It was their fault and they should have known better.

But I think, although it's a rare case, that raped girls have a right to abortion. They had no control over it and they could be unprepared, physically, financially, and emotionally to have the baby.

I feel that it is a awful thing to ever do! I mean the child shouldn't get punished for what the man and woman had done! I mean if they didn't want to have a kid then they should have used protection and if they just didn't want the kid then they should put it up for adoption there are many people who would love to have a healthy baby who can't have kids. So I mean there is a person for everyone being placed on earth and to take them away when still not born is actually considered killing a human it jsut hasn't been born. I feel it should be outlawed and no one should be able to do such a wrong thing!!

I think the choice should be available. What about the 12 year old that gets raped by grampa and gets pregnant? Theres so many circumstances where its a good option.

I cant help but notice alot pro-lifers going on about how its murder, yet at the same time you dont want your tax dollars being used on that child.
It seems like you only care about the life while its in the womb, but once that woman is forced to have that baby cause you outlawed abortion, you dont seem to care about that baby anymore. Its a double-edged sword.

Furthermore, what about all the children already in orphanages and foster homes, and the ones homeless. There are millions of these children that no one cares about. Without abortion there would be millions more. Sometimes you have to be cruel to be kind.

Why didn't god stop it himself? If he only tried once, I wouldn't put my faith in him. Anyway, I'm pro-choice. It's not for the government to decide whether a woman should have to keep a fetus, which is not a child, it's fetus, or not. There are many cases where abortion is the only answer, so even though it is not ideal by any means, it should still be legal.

It's a very tough and controversial topic. On the one hand, I can understand its appeal to vicious rape victims. Who would want to be reminded of such a horrible incident, and moreover be burdened with a child born out of such circumstances? However, I do find myself in an ethical conundrum when it comes to young girls who see abortion as a "get-out-jail-free card", so to speak when their less-than noble activities have resulted in an unexpected pregnancy. I should like to say that parents, teachers, counselors, and in general adults should be mature and honest enough to impress a strong sense of responsibility in the younger generation, especially when it comes to safe sex practices. I find alot of people referencing the "free-love" revolutionary era of the 60s-70s as though it were a generational standard, which subsequent teenagers should follow or seek to outdo. This pisses me off to no end in its reckless ignorance. I agree, every child should have a chance, because all life is precious. But, when it comes to situations where the mother's life could be endangered in the birthing process, if there is a high risk for both baby and parent to die in delivery, or traumatic rape victim pregnancies, it should take alot more deliberating than a quick overall standard. I believe life begins at the moment of conception. Maybe if more people saw it that way, they might also be more considerate about the consequences of their sexual ventures. Is having unsafe and irresponsible promiscuous sex worth destroying not only your life, but the life of your partner, as well as the life of another human being possibly in the making?

By when a woman gets to the point of knowing that she is pregnant, the baby's heart is already beating. The baby is alive and it is more than 10 cells as on person said. The baby is complete with arms, legs, head, and body.
As far as rape or incest, the baby should not be punished. The man doing the rape or incest should have his member removed as both an example to others and as a prevention that it will never happen again.

i personally think it's the wrong choice for me. as far as other people, it's really none of my business and i'll always support the right for people to choose.

I just want to make the statement for the people that say "I understand about why someone would want to do it over rape." that LESS THAN 1 percent of abortions are done because of rape and incest. That is not an excuse.
