Can humans evolve to weed out imperfections?

For instance, in a million years:
we will all be vegetarians
there will be no pollution/excessive global warming
we will finally achieve world peace
we will be able to travel into the farthest reaches of space
we will have found cures for cancer, a solution to aids, and poverty all over the world

In a million years humans will likely be long dead. I'm afraid that the human race is too ignorant to find their imperfections or even give a damn enough to fix them! Sorry, I would type more, bit my entire left arm hurts immensely and I'm going take a warm bath...

no because with out omperfections everone would ahve nothing to complain about and then nothing would be fun anymore and is impossible to be perfect there will always be a flaw with people as long as we exist

with the way the world is now this is a very far out view. This all boils down to a psychological question, Will people ever be content with what they have? Also there is also the chance that there will be other unforseeable problems. Evolution of the natural world. Finally, with people marrying for love and not for healthy traits, human evolution will not progress in a uniform trend towards utopian.

Species do not evolve for a moral/ethical purpose. They evolve so that they will fit better into their environment, so that they will continue to exist. Whatever does not cause them to have trouble reproducing does not matter - "imperfections" in a species are irrelevant to whether or not the individual members of the species survive to reproduce.

Humans obviously survive to reproduce, big time. There will be no evolving beyond what we already are. If what we already are causes our environment to change too fast for evolution to kick in to change us such that we survive in the changed environment, we're outta here.

Humans will always be imperfect in this life. That will not change. To expect that we will or can reach closer and closer to perfection is to be greatly disappointed. There will be upgrades to the quality of life, yes, but perfection, no.
We will know perfection only in heaven.

why are you assuming there will be such a thing, as a human in a million years?

human arrogance makes it impossible to realize our flaws before it is too late to do anything about the problems they cause.

Humans have the capacity to evolve. But, our ability to develop technology to improve our quality of life prevents it. For example, the disease diabetes. People are born with genes that will cause them to develop diabetes. But because mankind has developed the technology that allows diabetics to live normal lives, these people live long enough to have children and pass on those genes. If not for this reason, over thousands of years people who are born with diabetes would die off and eventually you wouldn't see that disease anymore.

Human evolution ceased to be a natural phenomena. When humans were affected by the forces of Nature, lived and died more like animals, we were an evolving species. Now we have the ability to alter our genome. Once you artificially alter your gene pool you counter any natural effects of evolution.

None of the things you call imperfections has anything to do with human evolution. We will become vegetarians when it becomes too costly to raise livestock. There will never be world peace as long as there is religion. Nothing can survive in space.

We know the answer to lots of the human races problems. Fewer people, population control, birth control. But, do we do anything about it?

It's possible but do we really want to do it? Imperfections are what make each of us unique people. Lots of people prefer meat above vegs. no pollution is a hard thing to do with the number of people on the planet needing resources. world peace is one thing that unfortunately will never happen, too many long historical differences between groups, it's like saying that we'll end murder, it's been around as long as man has. do we really need or want to travel to the farthest reaches of space? we still have much to learn about our own planet, plus the amount of time and money to go about studying deep space would be huge, We may find a cure for cancer and aids, but a new killer disease will pop up in the meantime, the world will sadly always include people who have a means to care for themselves and ones who do not, we can make it easier for the have nots but they'll still be out there.
