Why is everyone up in arms over the outing of CIA agent Valerie Plame?

Unlike so many of my more progressive comrades, I think it is a good idea to out CIA operatives. Then the CIA can be made to toe the line and stop causing problems in other places. The CIA could be disbanded and the money currently used to finance their mischief can be diverted to more deserving projects like curing poverty and AIDS.

duh.

It was disgraceful, how stupid are you!

The CIA does work that is messy but also nessicary personally if we wanted to cure aids or stop poverty we could jsut stop sending massive care packages to parts of the world that do nothing but breed and leach off of productive countries like our own

OK. Don't know if you've heard but that's not exactly the issue of the day. Thanks for sharing anyway.

people how want to harm distoy America-are only one's that worry about this subject

You're right!
It's much more important to "out" Larry Craig.

.

Yes.
Good communist viewpoint.
Thank you, comrade!!!
We Commie Democrats will take over in 2009.

She was trying to convey information that, if taken seriously would have prevented the debacle that Iraq has become. The Bush administration, however, was more interested in going to war for profit, and she was punished for serving the American people that she was sworn to serve.

And in the meantime, we have terrorists infiltrating every group in every country across the globe.

Oh, I forgot, I guess 9/11 wasn't enough of a lesson. Shall we do it again? What's another 3000 civilians on our on soil?

Oh great another propogandist for the left. As if you really know anything about the subject. The CIA may have it's problems, but they also help keep us safe from our enemies.

One of the major issues is the people behind Plame's outing. The leaking of her identity was a tactical move made by members of the Bush administration, who then went on to orchestrate a cover-up.

Plame's husband, Joseph Wilson, was a former diplomat who went on to publicly criticize the Bush administration's invasion of Iraq. He was one of the first insiders to do so. The outing of his wife, Valerie Plame, is viewed by many as a retaliation for Wilson's very public criticism.

The government outing one of its own agents in order to punish a dissenter is alarming to say the least.

It鈥檚 because they keep secrets, It's the CIA, for crying out loud! Are they a video production company for you people? I'm sorry to rant. I really am. I know my voice rises. It's not as bad as Mrs. Clinton's, but... It's the CIA. They are supposed to keep secrets! Good grief. What do they expect? The CIA to make these tapes available? Yes, they do, because they're not interested in national security. They just want to go after the people who are protecting us. I don't think it's ever going to happen. These are people that would kill you as soon as look at you. They'd do it in the most vicious and brutal ways. We're dealing with a new breed of human debris here.

Democrats' are furious. Harry Reid's furious. Democrats at large are furious. They're not acting like winners at all, folks, they're not acting like winners at all. They run the House; they run the Senate; can't get anything done; can't do anything right. "'Democrats' Fury Grows Over Destroyed CIA Tapes.' -- Congressional Democrats reacted furiously on Friday to the CIA's disclosure that it had made and destroyed videotapes of terrorism interrogations, as leading lawmakers called for a Justice Department inquiry. ... Assistant Senate Democratic Leader Dick Durbin of Illinois wrote Attorney General Michael Mukasey to request an investigation into whether the CIA violated obstruction-of-justice laws by destroying the tapes. The tapes recorded interrogations using techniques that many critics have described as torture. 'The CIA apparently withheld information about the existence of these videotapes from official proceedings, including the 9/11 Commission and a federal court,' Durbin said in the letter. 'It is the Justice Department's role to determine whether the law was violated.'"

Now, may I ask a very simple question? Do you find it strange that when the non-covert Valerie Plame was outed, the Democrats went ballistic? They just had a fit. "You are threatening this woman's life. You are destroying her career. Somebody must be frog-marched out of the White House to pay for this. Who do you Republicans think you are?" Prior to this, Democrats never gave a rat's rear end about the CIA or anybody in it, by the way. Now all of a sudden they're so concerned for the safety and the future of a brilliant non-covert operative, Valerie Plame. Now that the CIA tries to prevent real covert agents from being unmasked, they go ballistic over that, too. It seems rather, what, contradictory, to be so concerned about the identity of a non-covert desk analyst being outed and yet they want to know who the hell these operatives were, that's what they want to know.

There's a third question here. This is the CIA. Their job is to learn and keep secrets. They are not a video production house for either Senate or House Democrats or the American TV networks.

Good answer Conserva .

Because Treason is very bad, it should not be tolerated.

And for those who still say she was not covert, why not accept the CIA,s word for it, they are surely more credible then radio and TV entertainers on this subject.

Valerie Plame was in charge of tracking down loose nuclear weapons had a network of secret contacts so we could intercept nuclear material before it fell into terrorist hands. National security trumps your concern for other deserving projects.
