Why do Christians try to convert people belonging to other religions .?

Why cant they leave the Humans as they are.? why try to convert and score brownie points and collect money for these activities.Christianity does not offer any great solutions to problems faced by any individual.Why does not the CHURCH ban these conversions which are made on false assurances that Blind / deaf /dumb / polio can be cured if converted.Why not offer cure for cancer and AIDS.Are they no diseases in christian countries.If mso does the religion solve the issue or the DOCTOR./

It's part of their religious teachings that they are supposed to "witness" to others about the good news of Christ. It's just part of the job description of being a Christian, so get used to it.

Why do atheists always harass and ridicule them, especially on this site? Trying to "convert" them?

The Bible tells them to do it, several times in fact. Doing what the Bible tells you to do is quite an important part of being a christian, apparently.

Christianity is a religion that believes in trying to convert non-believers so they can be saved. This has its roots in the spread of the early Christian church throughout the Roman Empire.

Christians believe that they are saved from the sins of the world because they have accepted the Lord as their Saviour. Christians would like to save as many souls as possible, hence, they try to have people believe in the Lord so they may also be saved.

Well I guess trying to convert people is a lesser evil than being killed because your not a muslim of the "right" sect. Just wanted to show that there's plenty of cr<ap to go around.

i don't know that they are trying to score brownie points as you say, from what i read not all christians do this only those who are evangelical and that is what they believe god asks them to do so to them if they don't at least ask others or offer up their beliefs to others then they are disobeying god. do what you would do if offered a dish you don't want or dislike...say no thanks, thats all. most all religions are good for mankind but there are those who pervert it and use it for their own selfish agendas that are the problem...its not the religion its the ppl. so give them a break, most believers (any religion) are just trying to do good, the ones that aren't ignore them.

Bluntly I think those doing that are a bunch of nutters. As one person put it: The whole world has heard of Jesus, there is no need to bash people round!
I am a Christian (Anglican, cf. ChurchofEngland). The church is there for anyone who wants it. I see no point in badgering.

All good living religious people give witness to their beliefs in how they live. I know of no church that promises healing if you become a Christian. Many cults and sects make false claims - these are not Christians. Christian doctors are at work in the fight against AIDS and disease on every continent. This work is funded by Christian charities and help and assistance is given to local people whatever their religion.

A lot of Christians are frightened. Preachers take advantage of this fear and convince people to go out and try to convert others, in an effort to appease an angry God.

Other Christians are woefully neurotic and psychologically codependent and have never learned how to MIND THEIR OWN BUSINESS.

Most Christians have tons of stuff in their own lives that needs fixing, but instead of focusing on their own lives, they prefer a big distraction of trying fix you and me.

Many Christians are fine people who simply never stop to think and just do what they are told to do.

So once they realize that they don't have to go out and save the world, it's an enormous emotional relief.

Some collapse in the street when they realize this, and have 'nervous break-downs' that last for years.

Eventually they heal and become 'Recovering Ex-Evangelicals'.

At their weekly 12-Step meetings they say:

"Hello, my name is Mark, and I am powerless over my compulsion to alter the lives of other people, and as a result of my obsessive attempts to change other people, my life has become miserable and unmanageable.'

i am a christian only coz of my parents..i was born a christian but in my whole life i saw ppl that can go beyond religion or culture....as well i saw ppl that can't do that and for this u can't say all christians wanna convert like i can't say no christian will try it....is true (even if some will not believe this) that are places were if ur not christian ur not welcome....happend to me and some friends that were not christian....i think u should study more before saying one thing about a religion or another....u can try wiht religion history that will provide for u a whole new perspective on things.....the similarities between christianity and hinduism.....the same for islam..as well budhism....the customs and the tradition of a religion comes wiht the place not wiht the name....coz i have a friend that is indian and is christian but his religion customs are diff from mine.....as well as an european muslim girl and a saudi arabian one.....try to see things in another perspective..and u will be surprised how many things will not fitt in ur right now thinking....hope u will not be angry and u will try another perspective....

You see, Jesus never said to form religions. And half of the ridiculous crap you see in religions - Jesus, or God, never said to do. Such as incense at mass, or praying to saints, or even taking communion - Jesus never said we should recreate that.

Religion, like any other club's survival, largely depends on recruitment of other members. To stay on top, it's required by many churches to minister and preach to nonbelievers. They claim it's to save the other people from damnation, and many do honestly believe that, but in reality, it's just to see who can get the most members, so they can say "We're the ones who are right."

Most Christians want to share Jesus Christ with people because of an honest desire to share something good that they have found, without alternative motives. I have never assured someone they would be healed by becoming a Christian.

at the end of the gospel of matthew and mark jesus left us a commission to spread the gospel to as many people and countries as possible.as to your reference to there being no benefit to my being a christian, i'd say this- i think what JESUS did for me on the cross of calvary is a huge benefit if for no other reason not going to hell when i die or upon his second coming to judge the quick and the dead.

Like Islam Christianity is a Non secular and intolerant religion.

Christians are told to go in to all the world teach and preach about God and his son Jesus Christ, they should know they can not convert any one or save them Jesus Christ by his gift of the Holy and life giving Spirit, dos that. we just have to obay and trust.
