Why does God scrap his plan to give you what you ask for in prayer? And why don't Christians pray?

for things that would help everybody. Why not cure Gays, or AIDS, or World peace, this year. You Have a powerfull weapon why not help the world with it?

Sambo, AIDS started in Africa as a hetrosexual disease

God doesn't scrap His plans; He fulfills them. Now, what makes you think we Christians don't pray for all those things you mentioned, and a lot more besides? I believe this world would be *much* worse off without the constant prayers of Christ's flock.
God bless you!

yes.
wow, did not know only Christians pray, but thanks for sharing.

according to the bible all you pray for will be granted; the only solution is to pretend the bible really doesn't say that, and that there are all kinds of limitations god forgot to mention.

Gays don't need to be cured...
and if you think gays DID need to be cured, then you wouldn't need a cure for AIDS.

So you know what we all pray for? You must be wire-tapping.

But no, God's too smart to scrap His plans for our prayers. Instead, he weaves our prayers together with His plans, so the two look like a perfectly planned work of coordinated art when complete.

Edit:

Um, Dreamstuff, no, God did not forget to mention that prayers, to be answered, must fit together with His will. That leaves out a lot of junk prayers. Also, prayers cannot be offered to satisfy our personal lusts. Those will also be ignored. But pray unselfishly for something good, with faith that God will answer if it fits with His will, and amazing things can and have happened.

Edit:

Parrot, reread my post. You missed my point. He doesn't act without regard to our prayers. Our prayers merge into His plan, and in fact are part of His plan. If we don't pray, there are things that don't happen. "Ye have not because ye ask not." See James 4:2. If we would ask for certain things, and ask for them in faith, with a view to serving love, then we would have them. So prayer does changes things. I've personally seen it happen. I've also seen where the blessing that came from prayer figured perfectly into a bigger plan I was not aware of at the time of the prayer.

If this seems strange to you, it should. God is outside the space-time continuum as we know it. There is an interaction between us and the unfolding of His plan that transcends our ordinary conception of sequences of events. We are not dealing with some mere superbeing who grants three uncoordinated wishes. We are dealing with the Ultimate Being, who upholds all things by the word of His power. See Hebrews 1:3. Time itself is fluid, is a dynamic reality under His control. He has determined in advance how He will accomplish all His will, and part of what He has determined is that His people should pray to Him, and in so doing make a real difference. Because He has determined it, it will happen; His people will pray to Him, because they love Him, and through their prays He makes Himself evident to them, that He is real, and acting on their behalf. Don't let yourself get trapped in finite thinking about an infinite God. There is too much at stake.

B/C There is no God...

*my imaginary friend is better than yours, NOW DIE!*
The ancient struggle of religion.

Our wish is not Gods command.

A fundamental misunderstanding of God. If you want what you pray for rub a lamp with a genie in it. You might get three wishes granted.

God gave all of us free will, so the choice of path in life is yours however every choice every path is already mapped out by God and many road signs are posted to guide you to the path he has chosen for you. I believe the majority of God fearing peoples do pray for these things however man continues to use his free will and individuality as he sees fit and to contradict the word of God.
Eg It is not a sin to be gay however it is a sin to engage in homosexual activity.

It is because true christians would not pray for something in contradtiction to gods own laws. The bible teaches the same sex relationships is contary to nature.Aids and such like is not gods punishment, but people have brought it upon themselves by their own behaviour.True there are innocent victims of diseases, and world peace is an issue as there are innocent victims of war etc, but christ told us to pray for his kingdom which will evntually eradicate these problems, all in one go.So by praying for his kingdom, you are asking God and christ to solve these issues. But god has a set time to do this and that is something we have to be patient with although the terrible world makes us wish it was all gone now.

I believe the answer to your question resides only within yourself, as cliche as that may sound. There is a tremendous amount of power in prayer, especially when others pray for you as well.

There is nothing wrong with seeking guidance or asking for help through prayer requests - http://www.praying.org is a prayer request site many swear by. If you read some of their "testimonials" you might take a different perspective about the positive impact prayer can have.

If you do what you've always done, you'll get what you've always gotten. Peace.

God already knows what is going on in the world. He handled Sodom and Gomorrah just fine without anyone reminding him.. He doesn`t need to be reminded that there is awful stuff going on. He hears the cries and the pain.. He is right there available to any who seek him.

WE can not do everything, for everybody. SO, it is better to minister to who YOU can help.. You waste time trying to do it for all, when others right in front of you NEED you now..

We touch one person at a time. We plant one seed at a time. God tends the garden..

By the by, We do pray for all those things.. Every week church`s across the world are praying for exactly all that you mentioned, plus those YOU forgot.... Shame YOU couldn`t remember to include EVERYONE in the world, like you are asking us to do... Hmmmm... It surely must be just a human failing..

Peace and God bless from Texas <><
