Is it normal to have people who "hate" you and send hate messages on Yahoo! Answers?

I find it kinda disturbing especially when you don't even know that person. Why are some people like that? If you just don't agree with that person or opinion, just say so. For instance, some of my opinions a lot of people don't agree with it, most just insult me saying,"You know nothing about the world! You are just 13! Shut up and go play with your barbies!" Just because I'm young doesn't mean I'm stupid! You may never know! I may be the first person to have a cure for AIDS, I may be the first person to solve global warming, I may be the first person to have a cure of all types of cancer! Why people so negative here?

I don't go around saying things like "You don't know anything! Stop acting like you do" especially when I'm the minumum age to get on Yahoo! Answers.

I'm not trying to get worked up. If I was getting worked up, a lot of people here would said that I have a colorful vocabulary for a 13 year old girl.

Exactly. You are a smart young lady. Unfortunately, this is an incredibly public forum and people can type whatever they want. I can 100% guarantee that very few people are really that rude and hateful in real life. Its easy to put people down and insult them over the computer. There's no consequences and no "reality" in it all. Just ignore people like that.

Very impressed with your thoughts..you don't need an answer...you answered the question quite well! I'm an adult, and am always amazed how people attack one another on the Internet, in answers and in game rooms. Whenever I'm attacked, I always type out, "Oh, please don't call me names...it hurts me so...I really care what total strangers think of me!"
It's a combination of cowardice, people (or kids) seeking attention, too much free time, and people who are having a bad day or a bad life. I truly hope you ARE the first one to find the answers to these things BUT you need to be a scientist and I can assure you, at 13, there is no way to tell. But for you, I hope that happens but you may also be asking 13 year old questions that WILL sound childish to the adults on here. Honestly, at 13 -- when you are 26, you are going to have so many different questions/answers than you do now. I can ASSURE you of this --- you'll see.

Here's a question for you: if you can vent, why can't they? I'm not saying I agree with what they're doing because it is stupid and immature, but maybe you hold some fault because they don't just go around picking on one person after another. If you want to stop it, then just hide your email and sn already. If they kept your contact info, then change it.

I had my first child at 13, now I am 21 with 3 babies. People send me ALL kinds of messages because I am a young mom. They all say that I HAVE to be on welfare and getting food stamps which I'm not! Even if I was it would be MY business not theirs! It's crazy. Don't take anything personally on yahoo answers, or any where else on the internet hun.

When i write about things on here that i believe in people attack me. Everyone has different opinions and thoughts on things so why should i be called names and so on for my beliefs?
Just like when i answer questions about abortions people email me saying bad things but do you think i email them harassing them cause they do not believe in abortion like i do? No...........

It is a shame that people cannot voice their opinions without getting bashed for it.
When i do answer questions about say teenage pregnancy i am not being rude, i just don't think it is right.

As for sending you hate mail, you should report it.
It's just like bullying. It needs to be reported.

I have had some people get so mad at my answer, them email me with the most insulting of letters.

Thirteen year olds are a lot more knowledgable than we take them for. I was thirteen not too long ago, and I know very little more now than I did then. I remember knowing things and being able to answer questions, but I wasn't given a chance to speak up because the common thought is "You are only 13, therefore, you are dumb." I think you should be given a chance to speak your mind and share your knowledge, no matter what age you are.

people are dumb. plain and simple. im also only 13 and ive gotten some hatwe email before. i guess some people cannot handle having a 13 year old outshine them when it comes to being knowledgable. thats just the way it is. good luck.

It isn't normal but that happens to me too. People are so negative because they are jealous that you are better than them.

People get kicks out of messing with people and fighting, they think it's fun but that's because they have nothing better to do with their lives. They probably don't even care about your opinions, and just like to be mean. Some people are like that and that's life, you just gotta deal with it[=

First of all, you do get worked up, because every time you ask a question and an Answerer gives you an undesirable answer you ask YET ANOTHER question about it.

I'm sure many people do agree with your opinions. But you choose to express them far too frequently. There are some things you should just keep to yourself; such as getting upset about hate mail.

Deal with it. That's life. There will always be others that disagree with you.

I never get these kind off mails. Well many adults do think that they are superior to us. When I was 9 or 8 many adults keept saying that I am really bad at many thing just because I did not get good marks(grade) in school and look I am a top contributor of physics. You can not judge yourself by what adults say. Edison was not regarded a great student. Newton was not the best in school. Einstien was not the best during his teen so don't worry.

For the E-Mail just delet them they are really a waste of time. Just think that they are a bunch of fools and go on.
