Should the federal government be allowed to waste our tax dollars? |
I think that putting monies toward AIDS and NASA is intellectually bogus. We're going to find a cure for AIDS just about the same time that we find aliens on the moon. Why don't we put these monies towards feeding the poor or health care for poor Americans? The federal government doesn't even have an idea does it? You have no idea what you are talking about. Compared to what they spend on war, NASA and AIDS get peanuts. The answer is no more war. Space travel and disease research are very noble causes. And there is money put towards the poor, it's just done in a bad way (ala welfare). I'm assuming by this question that you are a teenager. If you are, then you'll learn someday I guess. If not, you need to read a newspaper once in a while. And maybe travel outside suburbia too. You are right that the US Government puts too much money towards things that can't be helped. The space programs has been costing us billions of dollars and the benefits are worth very little at best. no, but they do anyway. I can see the point in cutting NASA, but AIDS research? That's a very good cause to put money towards, and just because it doesn't make a difference to YOU doesn't curb the fact that millions die from it every year. The war in Iraq is the REAL money drain of the country. As for helping the poor, they do put a lot of money out there for it. And you'll hear people all over Yahoo answers moaning about having to pay taxes to support the poor (go figure). |
