Or perhaps you should pray to God right now to give you the answer you so wantingly desire like the cure for aids that hasn't been solved by prayer=AND DON"T HAND ME THAT CRAP about God working through people-as an excuse to yur delima because God has given numerous other religions cures and solutions to problems-When the bird flu infects this country (God Forbid) are you gonna run to the church and pray you don't get infected or are you going to go to your doctor and get a shot-an innoculation as a remedy-and because we are being faced with crisis situations like these in the world right now are you gonna go to church and PRAY for solutions or do you believe that you will take preventative measures to try to keep from getting sick-How many people died from The Black Plauge because they ran to the church and were subjected to exposure by someone who went their to find relief-Only Jesus has laid his hands upon people to cure them of their illnesses and that was called a miracle-DrJESUS!

It's pretty simple. Let's use an example. Something easy like... making spaghetti. We'll use myself, since I have two hands, verses... a thousand xionist fresh from Sunday services.

It'll take me, on average, about 6 hours to make spaghetti from scratch. This includes baking my own garlic bread, making my own salad, and even making fresh sauce and noodles and meatballs. After those 6 hours, I sit down to my hearty meal.

While I'm doing this, the 1,000 xion fundies are kneeling and praying. Yet the only one with a spaghetti dinner... is me.

The beauty of this is, is that's a scientifically verifiable fact. Seriously. Try it yourself verses a bunch of religious whackos. Every time, you'll be the one with dinner first. If not, I'll pay you 1,000 dollars US. Be sure to document it on video tape so we can be sure no shenanigans are going on!

I'm not religious, but I don't think that praying and "doing something" have to be mutually exclusive. If prayer, as an activity, gives people hope, then as long as they are also working toward a solution, there's no harm there. But, I agree, that prayer in the absense of any other activity is probably not going to help very much.

Short and sweet. prayer can move mountains but God relies on people to act in order to do so. Prayer without action is not the true Christian way of life.

I am an Atheist and I am giving you fair warning. I plan to steal that line and use it on every Bible Thumper I encounter.
