What does the Bible really have to say?

First, I do not want to reach immortality through my religion, I want to achieve it by not dying.

Second, since the Bible doesn't have the cure for cancer, the cure for AIDS, the recipe for World Peace, the secret for avoiding famine, what on earth does it even have to say that has any relevance on anything, much less immortality?

Also, why do I have to die, and wait a few thousand years for resurrection? Not dying at all is so much a better option for me...

Do not bound yourself to this earthly form or to anything on earth

So... you think you aren't going to die eventually. Boy, are you in for a rude shock.

The Bible does actually have the recipe for peace. People don't want to hear it.

Philippians 2:1-11

THEREFORE if there is any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any affection and mercy,
2 fulfill my joy by being like-minded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind.
3 Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself.
4 Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others.
5 Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus,
6 who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God,
7 but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men.
8 And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross.
9 Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name,
10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth,
11 and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

That's sounds like peace to me.

But do you really want to live forever in this world? With stupid people who are constantly fighting and with natural disasters and diseases? I don't want to. Plus, if you are dead for a few thousand years, it's not like you'll remember it. Just like when you sleep a long time it seems like no time has passed at all.

The Bible tells you about a God who loves you and who wants you to love him. The immortality part is a byproduct, and a gift from God because he loves you and wants to spend eternity with you. That's the point of the Bible.

The Bible says that true, faith and believing is the gift of God given to us solely on the basis of His mercy. God is the source of all that is good. There is really no GREATER JOY in life, than to have the Lord God as the object of all your desire, to have a will in your heart that is totally given to Him.

READ it...you want a fast fix....steady it a chapter a day...you say it doesn't have a cure will I say JESUS is the cure.And as for the other counties ,there is so much going on now ,Charity's ,Church's,giving.DON'T you see the big aha
Just one question are you will you be ready when GOD comes for his people....do you feel you could live in GODs KINGDOM with doubt.....thats the real question...

The Bible clearly tells us how to have eternal, peaceful, joyful life in heaven...through faith in Jesus as our Savior. You can have immortality in heaven or not, it's your choice...no one goes to hell by acccident.
People who have not heard of Jesus will be judged on their actions according to their inborn knowledge of right and wrong and the law that God has written into every human heart. God will know what is righteous and just.

Some say the Bible does have a cure for certain cancers in the seeds of apricots and other fruits, vegetables or nuts which He told to us in Genesis....we were originally designed as vegetarians. Some foods contain antioxidants and are very good for protecting against cancers. We do, however, have corrupted genes that are not as robust and perfect as God originally intended and created in Adam.

Genesis 1:29 Then God said, "I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food. 30 And to all the beasts of the earth and all the birds of the air and all the creatures that move on the ground鈥攅verything that has the breath of life in it鈥擨 give every green plant for food.

The truth is we live in a fallen world since Adam's first sin and the problems we have in the world are our's to deal with...famine's have always been with us and we could feed the whole world quite easily if we had a system that was not corrupted by man's sinful nature. There was a recent article about food stuffs rotting in containers in Haiti while millions went hungry because of the greed and corruption of the authorities. Is God to blame for this or man?

We also will never be rid of wars because of man's sinful nature to envy his neighbors land or wealth or our clash of religious beliefs which have strayed from God's true Word.

God gave us the Bible as a guide book to live in harmony with Him and each other...it is because of man's sinful nature and corruption that the world is the way it is today. Good luck on the not dying attempts...no one has beaten it yet except for one man...Jesus. He conquered death for us all.

The bible discusses explicitly the cure for all of these ills. Reading of the gospels would prove beneficial.

Well, who said that you have to die and wait a few thousand years for resurrection? But, let's imagine for a moment that this *is* the process required for Christian salvation. Clearly, you would rather avoid death and just live forever. Obviously, Christianity is not for you. BTW, how exactly *do* you skip death and live forever? You really should let us Christians in on your secret, you know...
