Hi, do you think this is weird?

When I think about my future career and life, I imagine myself in the scientific field. I love biology, but I choose not to work on living people, merely b/c I do not want to help people w/ their problems. I think the US govt is a scam, & can really help people with the diseases they have. (I dont want to digress, but how have they not found a cure for AIDS? & I think it is setup that when people have an illness or disease & they are finally cured with all this expensive medication, that they suddenly get another disease that will have to be treated with different, but nonetheless, medication.. which equals money for the govt..) I want to go into the field of pathology, working on cadavers. But the life I imagine myself living is working on these bodies, but no children or husband is in the picture. Is this the mindset of an intelligent, or dumb woman? Give your reasoning, and if not clear, please state your sex!
*BONUS. If you can guess my age, I will reveal it later.

I think you're job choice is an excellent one, and i hope, if they are keeping the "cures" secret, you'll let us know.

i'd guess you're fourteen or there abouts.

i guess ur in ur 20's. i dont think your dumb, if ur happy living for this carreer then go for it, but sometimes we can be come obsessed well kinda, with things like career or a boy for eg. at the moment your career may be the only thing on your mind , but in a year or so it may change.

Dear Heidi.....I don't care to guess your age because I don't think it is pertinent. I would like to address your post just from my personal observation. I worked with people (patient's) for many years. To tell you the truth I got really sick of all of the whining and bitching. Also my malpractice insurance was eating me alive. I went into the field of forensic pathology as there were fewer risks, and from the scientific standpoint I found it much more challenging and rewarding. I did that for four years and started missing working with live patients and went back to it. With regard to finding a "cure" for certain diseases, I feel that it does make you wonder why there is not more government funding for research (More $$$ are spent sending men and women to Iraq to die). There are other unfortunate diseases for which there is also no cure. I have watched people die of ALS or Lou Gehrig's disease and wondered if there really was a God. Why isn't there a cure for a young child who comes into the ER as a victim of drowning or a young person who comes in as a trauma alert after an motor vehicle accident or some other event? We save so many lives but the science hasn't been perfected yet to save them all. best wishes

I think your idea of a government conspiracy is bunk. As far as a career goes, working in a morgue might be a good fit for you. You can do it with a BS in biology or you can get an MD and actually do the autopsies yourself. I interviewed for a job in the morgue one time as an assistant to the ME, but I didn't really want to work there when the interviewer told me about weeks old bodies that people had found that I would have to work on.

I would guess your age at about 16.

I think its weird that you've posted this 3 times in 2 hours.

Age: 15

Me: 2 points

I don't believe that stuff about the government having a cure for AIDS and is hiding it. The government is losing more money on AIDS than they are gaining. Pharmaceutical companies are making the big money and the US government is in debt.

If you want to get into that field, you'd better make sure you keep your grades up. It's not easy to get into medical school.

I would guess you are in your teens.

I would guess you are about 18-21. I think you need to think really hard about when you are over 50 and do not have a husband or children? Do you think you will be happy then? If so, then your plan seems okay.
