Why are God's miracles so selective?

God seems to wantonly cure AIDS and cancer. He's never cured mental retardation or allowed someone to grow back a limb. What is the deal with how God performs miracles?

Perhaps because miracles are supernatural. And they do not exist.

But humans can help to cure AIDS and cancer. So let's perform some real wonders with science.

the reason God performs miracles is to display His power.

they are myths. misinterpreted events.

THAT is why they are selective. imaginations select them!

When has god ever cured AIDS? I think you are mistaken on that one. Some forms of cancer are curable but it has nothing to do with god....it's all science.

Miracles are not random. They have a purpose; mostly that purpose is to teach and learn. A miracle does not remove a learning opportunity, but provides one. If the miracle would remove a learning opportunity, then it would not take place.

The same reason why magicians/illusionists choose actors/assistants from the audience instead of random people.

If you read the bible you would know that all miracles are not the same though He is a miracle worker. He has compassion on everybody regardless of the need. When Jesus died on the cross he took ALL our sickness and disease upon his body. The scripture said: Isaiah 53:5 - But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are HEALED. So, He is not selective - why some people don't get heal - I don't know.

All who have been healed by unexplainable means have had one thing in common. Faith. Truly believe in your heart that God is going to save you and that His will shall be done.

He has helped someone grow limbs back. In the Bible he completley restored lepoards. They often had body parts fall of when bad enough. Also He restored an ear...

Two weeks ago, my pastor was on a missions trip. This lady burst through the doors holding a baby. She had been to the doctor and the baby had been pronounced dead for over three hours. She went up to the altar and cried out " I need you God!" Then she handed the baby to the ministers and they begin to pray for the baby. He came back to life, he began to move and came back to life from the dead.

Now tell me, did she have faith? Did she go and do something about it or just sit around saying I hope my baby comes back to life? Trust God...
