Why don't international students get financial aids?

I mean, I have a 4.0 GPA and I am only qualified for a couple of scholarships. My American friends barely have 2.5 GPA and everything is paid for them.

Now, I know that their parents are paying taxes, but wouldn't you rather pay for someone who is studying harder? How happy does it make you to see that your tax money is used by some college student who doesn't even want to study? Wouldn't you rather want your tax money used on students who study hard (hell, they might cure the cancer)?

With all due respect, I support educating American Citizens with my tax dollars before educating foreign students. Obviously, your ethic values and efforts greatly exceed those of many of my own countrymen, but Americans continue to fall farther and farther behind other countries. While I salute and commend your efforts, my financial support remains in hope that more American Citizens will adopt YOUR values and work ethic. Good Luck and may you reap the benefits of all your dedication, but don't ask me to back you financially.

Recruiting International Students is a business for American Schools as they contribute $16 billion dollars p.a. to the kitty. Graduate students are a cheap TA & RA alternative. International students provide desirable diversity to the community demanded by the schools for their students. Report It

Education should be free for everyone, period. There is one thing the human race could use more than anything and only the rich can afford it. It's unfortunate.

Hey, you are obviously a foreigner - you came to this country to study with the understanding that you would be financially liable for your education - you should check on student loans and grants from your own country - that is what it is there for. You don't qualify in the USA because you are not an american - Sweden doesn't pay for foreign exchange students to study there, either. Who cares if it is 'used by kids who don't study', because it is a loan, not a gift, they have to pay it back, so if they fail out of school, they still have to pay it back, and the banks and/or government still benefits from the interest paid on the loan. Any grants they get is offset by the interest that accrues on all of the outstanding student loans, anyway.
