How serious is AIDS today in the U.S.?

seems only time it is mentioned is when it is linked w/Africa; i remember in the 80s there was a lot of coverage on it, esp as well known people died; there was a sorts of predictions and pushes for a 'cure'
over the years it seemed to have gotten into the background; as long as there is not a cure , and it is still around, i still think it is of great concern, but it doesnt seem to be reflected in the media or in our sexual responsibilities
what happened?

I think my next question will be : WHY CAN'T YOU >>FULLY<< READ A QUESTION?

it's just not the new and exciting topic of death and disease right now. still horribly serious and only people with money can fight HIV. when they don't want to focus on the death of the war's and terrorism around the world anymore, then maybe they'll start talking about AIDS again.

real serious!!!!

go ask a doctor he/she should help

very serious..lol..dont have sex...abstinense ppl!! COME ON!

we have no reason to constantly talk about things we cant change, until, well until they've changed.

AIDS is a problem here, but most americans have access to healthcare. africans dont and that is why it is so much more dangerous there.

don't be fooled. aids is still a very big problem in the u.s. currenlty the more blacks and latinas are inflicted with the disease. our media sucks ***... you should know that by now.

the reason you don't hear about it is because of better treatments, most americans have treatments that allows them to live longer, but most africans don't have the type of treatments that americans have, so they die more often from the diseases.
