This is a little cruel but I think we should create a colony for every person infected with aids 2 go2. Agree?

My friend told me about a girl at a college he goes to. she happen to be an AIDS victim she thought everyone hated her. she got very angry and she had sex with 32 men that attended to that college and they all got infected.

I mean, its not fair to people who happen to sleep with an AIDS victim and not know their infected.

Their should be a law that every US citizen must get an checkup to detect AIDS, and if they have it they are sent to a colony of people with AIDS or have to have something on them that identifies them as a victim.
I mean, lets get real...we are not going to find out a cure for it in probably hundreds or thousands of years.

while we're at it, why don't we just pass a law that segregates kids who were bullies or cruel in primary school... that way we can be sure they don't murder anyone when they grow up.

your story's an urban legend, by the way. everyone's heard a version of it. it's really sad that people pass that off as fact--you ought to check the sources of tales like that!

there may also be legislation in play (i think it's in the working-on-it stage, but correct me, anyone who knows...?) to prosecute people who knowingly infect others. THAT'S all you should have; anything else is really terrifying to free people. why would you lock up people who are HIV positive but would NOT want to infect anyone else? it's ludicrous!

In fact, individuals with AIDS are not recommended to have intercourse with other infected individuals. There are MANY forms of AIDS and it is possible to contract more than one type of AIDS which will increase the severity of the illness.

I guess it's fair to say that most of those who are HIV positive are conscientious and refrain from risky behavior to avoid transmission to others. Perhaps it would be smart for an individual who is going to have sex with anyone, to talk about STD's openly and honestly (as well as birth control) first before doing so - and furthermore, to go and get tested together. A little maturity and honesty can go a long way.

I think the idea of making regular STD testing a law is not a bad idea, but the idea of shipping HIV/AIDS victims away is absurd. It is the responsibility of every person to ensure they have protected sex with people they can't trust completely. The answer is not to ship off the infected people so everyone else can be irresponsible.

dude, what u are saying will never happen, its agains our democracy and the very concept of "FREEDOM". and they are very close to finding a cure, as stds are treated aloooot better than before. a person can live not up to 30 years with hiv where before it was 7...

It wouldn't work. Even if everyone agreed to it, many people who have HIV/AIDS don't know it. If not everyone knew, then all infected people couldn't be seperated.

It wouldnt work coz majority of the people who are HIV+ dont know it.They come to know only after AIDS sets in and by that time they would have unintentionally transmitted the virus to others.The girl in ur story is just an exception,majority of the people dont behave like that.
The best way to control the transmission is 'Abstinance' from sex until marriage.If that's practically not possible people should use condom when they sleep around.

Also when a person is diagonised HIV+,he needs a lot of emotional support,more than the virus,its the stigma attached to it that people are afraid of.In such a situation,if they are send off to a colony,shutting them out from the society,dont u think u'll be making things more difficult for them?Think about it.Lets live and let live.

It is not like you wake up the next day and symptoms are full blown, it can take years to show up. You might have it today and not know it. Why isolate people with diseases to a "colony", what about the poor children who are infected at birth, or the ones whom received it from blood transfusions.

I highly recommend you become more knowledgeable about this disease, before you start a witch hunt.

What do you mean lock them up? They are not ANIMALS!!! and half of the population who has HIV/AIDS don't even know that they are infected. Also why would we put something on them that identifies their status? So people like you who are judgmental can lock them down in a colony. Grow up! and before you become judgmental get educated on the disease.

Since everyone on the planet should know about AIDS by now people SHOULD NOT be having unprotected sex. That way both people are responsible for their own actions,and protecting themselves. NO they should not be sent to live elsewhere they are people too, and not everyone that has the disease is trying to pass it along. People should use common sense.

You know maybe if people would stop having one night stands and sleeping with every person they met this wouldn't be a problem. With all the viruses HIV, STD'S out there you would think people would think about wearing condoms. Should we send you to an island because your ignorant? Get real. I don't have hiv and I don't sleep around and I can't tell u I wouldn't get nervous if there was a person next to me with hiv but some of the people infected didn't have a choice they didn't sleep around they got them through blood transfusions why should they be punished? Maybe people should stop sleeping with people we don't know anything about because if you don't you may have serious concequenses to face.

I do believe that people who have aids should not have unprotected sex with an uninfected partner. If they do so I do believe it should be a crime. Its not a popular opinion, not PC but it is sensible.
