Why are people with Cancer called PATIENTS, but people with AIDS called VICTIMS?

Could this be societies attempt at trying to play down the causes of AIDS?

- 90% of Cancer PATIENTS never smoked, or done anything to themselves to give themselves cancer, while only 12% of AIDS PATIENTS have gotten it without doing something to cause it (drug needle, sex, etc). Thats 88% that has caused their own death, yet they are glorified for their bravery and strength.

Doesnt this seem a little biased, even in our sick, liberal society? Make the people with AIDS seem completely innocent? I know a cure for AIDS...ABSTINENCE. If Abstinence was practiced along with not having children if YOU have Aids, and all Gay Sex was stopped, then it would go away COMPLETELY in 15 years.
Sad, but true.

AIDS is 100% preventable, while cancer is not. That why I never bought into that Hollywood bullsh#t about wearing those damn AIDS ribbons. The only reason Hollywood took that up as a cause because it affected them directly.

I think: cancer patients are hospitalized. AIDS victims did not know they were exposed to the AIDS virus.
