Why is there no cure for some diseases?

We've put a man on the moon, we've created the internet, and we've even cloned a human being. Do medical experts not want a cure for Aids, Cancer, etc?

face it, there isn't even a cure for the common cold

I agree with you. I think the medical experts should spend more time on other more critical things like coming up with cures.

aids is a virus whcih means it mutates and cancer is a dna protien both which are verystrenous to make a cure for. To make a drug to cure a diesease that they have figured out how to do such thing for would take 7-10 years depending on the manufacturer.

Most likely because the majority of people no longer want to help humanity, being wrapped up in their own personal lives. When was the last time you met a child that said they wanted to be a scientist? I've never heard that. Usually they want to be an actor or musician.

Pharmecuetical companies make a lot of money off of treatments for diseases.

For example there is a cure for AIDS but it isn't put on the market because there would be a lot of money loss for the companies.

idk i wonder the same thing. i hate my disease. do you think god gives it to the best people b/c he think we can handle it better? i often wonder why i was put w/mine. strange huh!!

Aids, Cancer is merely names to console our selfs with explanations, its the sins of mankind.... nothing else.

A cure or prevention exists for all disease. Our scientists just haven't found them all yet. And as soon as they do find one, a new one pops up. We do most of this to ourselves.And if there was no disease, how would all the pharmaceutical companies pay all there salesmen?

Simple. There is no cure for some diseases because we just haven't found them yet. Do not assume that no one is trying, you'd be foolishly mistaken.

There is a cure and the only way people can get it is by going to heaven! God can do anything.

I know we have not found a cure for any virus as of date...so sometimes I think the nature of viruses are hard to kill...bacteria is easy as they are living organisms that can die...I don't know if its the same for viruses.

Or you can just go with conspiracy theorists... Its out there,,, THEY just don't want us to have it!

It takes time to find any cure.

There are cures for almost every disease, even ones we've been told that have no cure. The cure is reserved for immportant Government people. The world is becoming over populated, so the government has a cure for diseases that were thought to have no cure, that way people will die and the world wont be over populated. But if an important person like the President were to be diagnosed with Aids or Cancer, they would be able to cure him because there is a cure.

Do you know what the drug companies make just for chemo? My Dad was paying $22,000 a month for his treatments. If they're making that kind of money just to make poisons that almost kill you, just imagine how much sway they hold over the research for a cure.

What we (in the US) need is a national law stating that anyone caught trying to hinder or stop research for a cure gets life in prison, or the death penalty, depending on the severity of the crime. That might change things for the pharmaceutical companies.
