Does anyone else view AIDS-HIV as a good thing ?

I find that AIDS-HIV is a good thing in that it acts as a punishment and a deterrent to immoral behavior. I like to think that many people are more careful with their bodies and their choices in an attempt to avoid AIDS. I also think it is a disgrace that our tax money is being used to find a cure for AIDS, when a person can easily avoid AIDS by using good behavior and that does not require any money. So, am I in the minority in thinking that AIDS-HIV is a good thing for society ?

No it isn't a good thing. There are people that have gotten AIDS and it wasn't due to their 'immoral' behavior as you put it. There are women, men and children that may be raped or attacked....are you saying that it is their fault the person doing this to them had AIDS?
Yes it seems a majority of cases are from people that are drug users, live alternative sexual lifestyles or are in 3rd world countries. Truth is anyone can get it.
Imagine coming up on a car wreck and you see people trapped in their vehicle. Maybe a train is coming down the tracks or the car is getting ready to explode, point is you need to get them out of the quickly. You manage to get them out but in the process manage to get some of their blood on an area you cut while taking them out through broken glass. What if that person had AIDS? Were you being 'immoral' by trying to help that family? You don't know how he got it to start with but that isn't the point. You have it now and were just trying to help. Say you don't find this out right away and go home to your wife or husband and have sex with them....odds are now they are infected. You were doing nothing immoral there, you were with your spouse. Heaven forbid you conceive (if you happen to be female) and now you run the risk of transmitting that to the baby....
Point is there are plenty of scenarios where HIV can be transmitted to others that had nothing to do with morals on anyone involved.

Well, 95% of people that get AIDS deserve it due to their choices, so in that respect AIDS is a good thing.

If you ever saw a loved one, or an innocent victim go through the phases of AIDS, you would not be thinking it is a good thing. There are many innocents out there that are victims, not being punished for their behavior. Unborn children, Rape Victims, Blood Transfusions, Health Care Professionals that Got A Needle stick, or a bone stuck through their gloves while doing surgery. These are not immoral people doing bad behavior....
Why should our tax money be used for killing people, when our own people are dying of disease that could potentially be cured.
I hope you are in the miniority... and if you want to see what AIDS actually is, I suggest going and working for Hospice for a day or two.

AIDS isn't necessarily a good thing, but I find it pleasing that Mother Nature has found a different way to control the burdensome population. Once a cure for AIDS is discovered, there'll be another deadly disease that comes along!

Any fatal disease is not a good thing. I hope that you never have to endure the pain and suffering of this horrible diease personally or with someone you love.

By the way, women still get raped every day. The myth still persists in sub-Saharan Africa that having sex with a virgin will cure AIDS. Following your logic, women who get raped deserve to be punished for having "immoral behavior." How can you even think this?

Spending "our tax money" to fight and cure AIDS is supported by me 110%. Billions of dollars currently go to medications, lost work, and other AIDS costs. Finding a cure will SAVE a lot of money in the long run. Even someone as heartless as you can do this simple math.

Why don't you try understanding, tolerance, and love for a change? I certainly hope you don't call yourself a 'christian' as your words say the opposite.

Once the virus has spread through blood or bodily fluids to a host that host may be a carrier for a long time before becoming aware they are infected.

I do not think that Aids is a good thing. Aids does cause some people to be more careful. If AIDS only effected the people that were immoral then it would be different, but their are wives and husbands that Now have AIDS because of an unfaithful spouse and children are also born with the disease because of the cheating; that is an awful reality.

well one can use condoms but nothing is fool proof .and say a man cheats on his wife and gives it to her should she have that punishment for his crime and how about the babies born with it.so they should not have a cure for it cuz their parents were immoral (by who is this immoral behavior judged ) also should nurses and drs who help people not have a cure for a disease a patient gave them .no aids is not a good thing it is not a good thought .it can happen to a lot of poeple who do practice moral acts (like waiting to have sex til marriage ) and then contract it through a spouse who could of got it from a blood transfusion.or whatever .and our tax money is not going to waste by trying to find a cure for a killer disease.

As said above, what about the children born with AIDS?
What about raped victims?
What about the naive girl/men who was tricked in having unprotected sex, or the condom broke?
What about blood recipients who got AIDS from blood donors?
What about the dentist who gave AIDS to a patient in the US because he scratched his finger on her teeth while working?
What about Africa?
What about the doctors and nurses who daily are faced with the possibility of catching AIDS?
What about drug addicts sharing needles? (Drug addicts need help, not death)

Then you are faced with the whole theory about AIDS being a human engineered disease. I bet you like that part.

That's why war exist in this world... people like yourself believe that death is just cause to punish the ones who don't follow Your Values.
