Will they ever find the cure for cancer and aids????

to help the people in need and help save the lives of people at steak

nature has her way. if we do find a cure, well have another problem. its all part of God's plan.

I really don't think so.

we can rele never tell
hopefully
i thought i heard sumthing that they were working on it
i hope so... i already lost 2 family members from Cancer

There's an answer for everything.

I believe they accidentally found a cure for a type of cancer, though i am not sure which.

i agree about it being gods plan...partially...nobody deserves the pain that the patients and their families go through...i would give my life for there to be a cure (or atleast i feel i would) ive known too many people who have suffered

Medical science has learned a lot about treatment/cures of cancer. There was a huge reduction in the number of breast cancer cases this past year as compared to the years before and they are contributing this to earlier detection and better treatments. Scientists have not had as long to study the disease of aids but great strides have been made with the antiviral agents that have been made. Unfortunately, no sure fire cures have been perfected. Like you, I can only hope!

Iran said they found a "cure" for aids

(I don't know why I got a thumbs down for my answer, this is true)

If you want a longer answer, I personally think that eventually both will be cured. I think that Nano technology will be the way, and they act as sort of a sort of back up immune system. Programmed to know the prints of the virus and tell the difference in cancer cells.

I also think bio engineering will also be a way. I would think that eventually, we would be able to modify cells and viruses as well, and change their behavior so it benefits us and not harms us.

I mean ultimately a virus wants to live in the same way it's host wants to live. Trying to kill viruses seems quite useless as they are always changing, the goal should be to transform them so that there could be a symbiotic relationship, instead of a parasitic one.

So, yeah eventually, we will have better ways to fight many of the health issues that we have now. However, we will never be able to cure everything. Also, the odds of this happening in our lifetimes is slim to none.

doubtful. Doesn't help that researchers have their hands tied behind their backs either. Maybe medical science can replace grant funding for stem cell research with selling lemonade on the weekends.

The word "ever" makes it a certainty that we eventually will, as long as we keep trying. However, until we actually find the cure, we won't know if we're a day away or century away from that cure. However, we will never know if we give up.

There are hundreds of sorts of cancers, and an increasing number are curable if your luck is running right. It might be worth noting that cancer used to be a shameful sort of thing to have--I can't explain why that was--and thus someone cured of cancer is not inclined to tell everyone the story. But yes, cancers can be cured--just not all of them, at least not yet.

AIDS is just as tough, if not tougher, for it's a virus as clever as we are.

We can't cure all diseases, despite what the conspiracy theorists would like us to believe. They're not quite strong enough to accept that there is randomness and uncertainty in life.

Looking at the situation religiously.....Man is able to create and use technology that God didn't create. Sorry, but the iPod was not created in the first seven days, nor was the gun. If diseases were designed to keep the human population on Earth in check , then AIDS and cancer are a scary reminder that somethings are beyond our comprehension. If God ever does declare "Judgment day" against us...all of us no matter what religion or whatever...and he sends in his Angels to slaughter (save) us. I believe the "human will" to stay alive at all costs will throw us into a battle with Him. We will use our technology to create our own God... Where did this come from?
Lord I apologize. To short answer your question....yes, we are getting closer aren't we? People do win the lottery and some scientist somewhere may just accidently find the cure or find it after a century of studying. Knowledge is power.

Lorraine Day
Burton Goldburg

There is hope....

thumbs down? I dont suppose you went to the site and viewed the interviews...Lorraine Day is a Orthepedic Surgeon and an AIDS Expert who suffered from and 'cured' herself Breast Cancer NATURALLY which means without chemo, radiation or surgery. now even I do not subscribe to everything she says, however, she is an inspiration because she did what supposedly is impossible and she gives hope to people who want choices. Allot of people dont even know there are alternatives to chemo and radiation, which have never been and never will be a cure for cancer. Burton Goldburg MD is a medical doctor who informs us about the new technologies being used in other countries, countries that are way ahead of us in the fight against cancer. I'm not trying to get defensive, but there is info out there from DOCTORS and highly educated healers that could make a huge difference in someones life. Who can stand in judgement of that.

Cancer is not just one disease its many. They can cure an individual but not the disease it self. You can't cure something if your don't know what caused it.
More people live longer with cancer today. Much of it is treatable just not cure able.

My son has a rare and deadly cancer with few treatment options. He was a stage IV at diagnosis with full body involvement. But even with the little that they know about this disease his pediatric oncologist was able to piece together a treatment plan for him. He has a disease that most people consider fatal and yet, despite that I know people who have survived this disease beyond the ten year mark. Do not believe everything that you read in the media . . there is always hope . . and every type of cancer, grade of tumor, and stage of disease has survivors.

There are cures for cancer already through the treatment protocols established by the medical profession. The problem is that cancer is not one disease, it is complicated because each individual experiences the disease differently. There will not be one single cure but probably dozens . . and we've already started.

Aids I would tend to say yes eventually, much can be done already to control this disease already. To American presidents promised a cure, that was a bit optimistic. When I worked part time for the prison service when AIDS was just being named a cure was expected in 5 years. We are still waiting but I remain optimistic.

Cancer I'm not so sure, you are actually talking about hundreds of very variable conditions affecting all organs and systems of the body. lumped together in one word.

Cancer is in part loss of cell control due to our immune system failing to pick up and destroy cells that divide abnormally. This failure increases with age. It is said to be a truism that if every male lived long enough he would develop prostate cancer as malignant change in the prostate in inevitable given enough time. This might suggest that cancer is inevitable if we prolong life indefinitely.

Perhaps in this case I am being pessimistic, even if we get cancer these days it is as time goes on and knowledge increases less likely to be a death sentence. Who knows for sure that we won't beat it too someday.
