We go to the moon but still we are unable to cure HIV and AIDS?

how can you honestly compare hiv to the moon landing... we are very good with technology and yes, one day we hope for a cure for aids and HIV but until people start taking responsibility, getting tested, and stop having unprotected sex outside of a truely commited relationship. we have no hope of truely cureing aids...

I know... sucks big time, they should focus on THAT cuz its spreading all over!

you can't cure a disease like that until you change the behaviours of the people spreading it. Going to the moon is no problem, you don't have to change anybodies behaviours to get there. getting people to stop having risky unprotected sex, and intravenous drug abuse....BIG PROBLEM!!!

HIV is a very powerful virus, it's often immune to the anti biotic prescried to keep it under controll. after so long on a particular antibodiotic it can become resistant to it and you'll need to switch medications

also within the last 2 years scientists have found a strand of HIV out called "the killer strand"
it's called the killer because it goes from infection to death in one year and is resistant, or almost completely resistant, to all known HIV meds out there,

Why should the pharmaceutical companies look for cures to this as well as cancer and diabetes. American pharm co's make billions of dollars in producing drugs that only control and not cure. If they took the time to design a cure then they couldn't continue to make billions now could they. Once you are cured you no longer need their pills. Another example of corporate greed in America and don't think NIH or the Govt is going to get behind it. Politicians make a lot of money from pharm company lobbyists to keep measures to cure from coming about.
Just recently however I did read an article about some overseas company developing something that has completely eradicated HIV in cells but the tests were conducted in test tubes. Maybe this is the start. What will probably happen is some American Pharm Co will toss them a few hundred million (a pinch of there annual profits) and have them and their research "disappear".
