It's been over 20 Years.when are they going to have a cure for HIV/AIDS for christ's sake? lol?

I just think it would be awesome if they got rid of this thing because i think nobody likes sex with a condom, and some girls want to have sex without one and i'm like um no. So, I look up on the interent for working cures on this and some sites say its not possible.some say it is but not for a long time.some say its close, and i just heard Bill Gates donated a large amount to finding a cure and doctors complain the main thing stopping them is money so that should help things along.I'm just wondering what people know out there?

AIDS will NEVER go away on it's own! I do agree that we need a cure for cancer as well. But why does it have to be one or the other? If people would quit spending there money on frivolous crap, such as hundreds of thousands of dollars for designer clothes, and used that money for good....then we may be able to find cures for both. As well as fix many problems and illnesses that are facing the world today. As it takes more than one large donation to find a cure for anything. It takes billions of dollars, and many trial and errors before a cure can be found.
Sadly, I don't think that we are close to a cure for AIDS at all. They may be close to a vaccine however. But even if there were a cure for AIDS, you still need to wear a condom during sex. While AIDS is the most deadly STD out there, it isn't the only one. Many others are life threatening and incurable as well.

My best friend and her youngest son died from AIDS last year. Her husband cheated on her then infected her. Ultimately killing her, their youngest son, and leaving 2 other boys parentless. So to the ignorant people who believe that only gays, drug users, and sluts get this disease....THINK AGAIN!

i think we need to find a cure for cancer first....maybe if people wouldnt shoot up or screw anything that walks...aids could dissapear with out a cure

I wasnt going to answer this but Forbidden needs a good smack in the head. You do not know if the person you are with had encountered a partner in the past that was infected. It can take years for you to test positive, so if your in a total monogamous relationship, and lets say 7 years down the road, you test positive, will you then call yourself a dirty whore?? It is people like you that make me sick. Noone deserves to die like that, noone. It doesnt matter if your a junkie a prostitute. Who died and made you pass judgement on anyone. I hope to God that you or anyone you love never has to face this disease, then you would know the hardship and deep sense of loss you will feel. O my gosh, Forbidden, that was awful!! You could have said that with a little more "cooth" .. Ya know be a little more nicer. Yes we need a cure for cancer, we need a cure for aids/hiv... We need a cure for alot of things. Maybe in our lifetime, we will see some things cured. I may be wrong saying this, but I think they have a cure for aids/hiv... They are trying to get more money from people who have it, for their meds and such. It is a sad situation. What is our world coming to??

Dont even think of having sex without using condoms . I used condoms and I got infected by HPV , I was so lucky that I got the low risk one ( vagina warth ) and I had a good immune system and I got rid of the virus . I used to thin the only thing to be afraid of is AIDS but I learned it in a hard way that there are more STDs out there beside AIDS . I used to laugh at people with warth and used to think I never can get STDs. Couple of my friends got it before me and they warn me about it but I ignored . I am telling you becareful really . I am happy that I got vagina warth not herpes or Aids , since vagina warth can be defeated by your immune system .

I think there is a cure but they are not saying anything they make more money treating people then they would curing it

It seems as if now that Bill Gates has gotten involved AIDS researchers really seem to want to find a cure for AIDS. It makes you wonder what they have been doing at all the conferences the last twenty years.
