I think the point is that clearly the odds of your contracting the disease are minimal if you keep it down and keep it out of the gutter. Yes, it's posible to contract AIDS by having sex once, and yes, when you have sex, you have sex with everyone your partner has ever had sex with, but you should THINK about that when you're messing around.

I volunteered several years ago at a legal clinic for Haitian refugees (don't ask) and I was messing around with this really hot Italian chick who was one of the coordinators and whom I'd taken out for dinner and then brought back to my apartment.
