Why are people saying there is on cure for aids?

In Flordia they are creating a one a day pill that keeps it under control and keeps it from spreading think about it, we may no be able to stop it but we're getting pretty damn close to.

Speaking as a nurse I don't think even if they did find a cure it would do any good. The money's not in the cure it's in the research and once found most of the money is lost. I do hope one day they can find one that knocks it right out your system but it will be a long time

Even if they found a cure for someone, which is very unlikely, the HIV virus, or AIDS, is always mutating as soon as a vaccine or medication is produced.

It is too bad people are spreading falsehoods. We don't have a one day pill for AIDs.

There is no cure for AIDS , however there are preventions to getting it. Isn't that much like a cure in itself? The people who say there is a cure for AIDS are irresponsible people, mostly men who don't want to use condoms or be with only one lover. This makes them believe if they get AIDS it won't matter because eventually there will be a cure. No. Sorry. Not for at least 50 or more years.-Play safe. -T

i heard that there was a cure for aids too but the country is making so much off of just treating aids instead of curing so they're not adopting/using the cure... but i don't know, that's just something i heard.

no actually we are not getting close at all there is more talk about it lately cause its the 25th anniversary of the first discovery back in 1981. and there is no doctor or medical professional that will tell you they are close to a cure. they are able to s;low the process, good lord just fing kill me. and the pill slows the process in your own body and it does not prevent spreading to another person. don't know where you came up with your thought of getting damn close but i can guarantee you as can any MD you ask we will see a 50Th anniversary of aids

It's a cure out there but you have to have alot of money to get it. that really sucks!!!!

Ok, ok slowly. Majic Johnson has AIDS, but he has the money to but the mediacation and lead the healthy lifestyle which is required to prevent any other infections or disease's from attacking his immune system.

You can get HIV and live forever..the problem is when you develope AID's your immune system is vunerable..
AND GUESS WHAT???.....
AID's DOESN'T KILL YOU...it's whatever virus, illness, sickness you get after that that does you in!
WHY?
Because your immune system is down for the count, in other word's you don't have a defence against attacks to your body..so in other words you are vunerable to even a cut on the finger..
So all this talk of anti-retrol drugs and whatever else at the moment is just a way of trying to prevent the onset of FULL BLOWN AID's
I urge everyone out there to take heed and respect this disease and take the neccessary precautions.
I originally come from a country that is considered the AID's capital of the world..I have seen first hand all too often of the affect it has on family members, economy and social life.
I'm not a doctor, all this knowledge is from the AID's awarness education they threw in our faces because it's now an epidemic. They fact's are real and scary..consider the fact that the number of AID's infections doubles every year..The U.N is conducting talks this very moment on the crisis..
Please folks, learn as much as you can about this problem...start by finding out WHAT
H.I.V and A.I.D's stand for...i'm sure that alone will open the door.

Again, HIV is the virus. When your immune system gets very weak we call it AIDS. Magic Johnson never got AIDS. He is HIV positive, but the drugs have prevented it from progressing to AIDS.
An yes, they are working on one a day HIV treatments to help keep the viral levels down. It is true that drug treatments usually don't work for long, because the virus can mutate. This makes a cure very difficult, possibly impossible.
BUT, a vaccine is definitely possible. Again, this is not a cure, but a way to prevent future infections.

Vaxgen came close to a vaccine a few years ago. The political correctness police gave them so much grief that they now act like it never happened and they never want to talk about it again. The problem was that the vaccine was something like about 2/3rds effective on blacks, a little less on asians, and hardly at all on whites. We have the same thing as the pharmaceutical companies face with other drugs to be tested. If someone gets sick or hurt during the test--bad drug company, you shouldn't do that! But there are people lining up for tests, begging for more tests, saying I've got that, take me! Take me! It is a pretty hard thing walking between those who want just any chance that it might work for them and those others who are saying, "If its not completely and totally safe for every breathing soul, then don't you dare use it!"

HIV is a suprisingly versatile virus, there are no easy lethal handles that remain continuously constant. There are several approaches that are showing some potential, but it is sort of like fixing the flu, next year's or somewhere else in the world there is a flu that is not affected by the last vaccine batch. Pinning HIV down for the kill, without killing the human hosting it, is proving to be quite a bit more difficult.

there is no cure, just like there is no cure for diabetes. HIV/AIDS has become a manageable condition if caught early and the person lives a healthy lifestyle to support the immune system. It also depends how your body responds to meds, some don't even need meds. I read a guy has been pos for 20+ years and has never had his T cells to a count that required it. It's all in your genes.
