Why is that there is no cure of AIDS? |
Why is that there is no cure of AIDS? All of the previous, cynical responses notwithstanding, there is no cure for AIDS largely because there is no "cure" for HIV. The primary reason is that HIV uses reverse-transcriptase to replicate its genome, and the enzyme is HIGHLY prone to mistakes, thereby introducing new mutations into its own structure and function. So, any therapy targeting this key enzyme is somewhat doomed to be nullified by its high rate of mutation and change. It is also why vaccines cannot generally be synthesized against HIV, because the high rate of mutation-introduction renders any common structural component precarious, as the structure may change and the vaccine would be useless. Because our best chemists are far too busy with E.D. medications and antidepressants. Besides, there's no money in curing this scourge, loads of money to be made in treating it and enabling the spread. AIDS, caused by HIV virus, there are no cure for viral infections up till now, but vaccines only to increase the immune system of the body against certain virus. If the scientists in labs. can isolate the virus with all its forms, then there will be a vaccine for HIV. because medication are not discovered yet, but in future there wiill be medications and of course new diseases without treatments, this is real life Because the big drug companies and the government make more money off the treatments than they would off the cure. The virus changes its formation. Or it mutates very fast. Reseachers have produced a vaccine that is currently on trials. Created in a Lab in 1975, used to control population in America, South Africa and some 3rd world countries. A cure would not be a good diea, sorry to sound like a prick about it, just my opinion though, and no I'm not a Conspiracy Theorist There is not yet a cure for AIDS becasue it's a relativly "new" disease. The first case of HIV was in 1959 from a man in Kinshasha, Democratic Republic of Congo. (How he became infected is not known.) HIV did not get it's name until the mid 1980's. The first case of AIDS in the US was in 1981 But it was not named until 1982. |
