Have they found a cure for AIDS yet? How close are they/ what is taking them so long?

i recently heard that german scientist are really close. they have found some kind of substance in the ody, right now they are tsting it, but they are pretty sure it will work.

No cure yet. Medicine cures can be a slow process. They do have a lot of new great meds out they help people live a longer life.

no, unfortunately, if you have AIDS it is pretty much a death sentence. it is probably taking them so long because they still hadn't found a bacteria that will kill the AIDS virus and will not harm your body at the same time. also, the AIDS virus is capable of mutating so that it can endure the substances that scientists are using to try and stop it. however, if you are HIV positive, they do have a medicine called AZT that will help the HIV infection from becoming AIDS.

No there is no cure. AIDS is a virus, like the flu virus, or the common cold. There is no cure. But they have a vaccine for the flu, right? The vaccine helps prevent it, but like all viruses it can become immune to this vaccine. Viruses change their chemical make up in order to elude the vaccines and penetrate the body. Would it not make sense , that if you found a cure that you would keep it quite. There is a lot of money at stake from the treatments we have on the market at the moment. By putting a cure on the market would be financial suicide for the pharmaceutical companies.

Mainly:

- The AIDS virus changes the way it acts and looks, therefore it is hard to combat something if you are not too sure what it looks like.
- A cure? At this point, a patient in the United States can fairly easily recover from its low points. Meaning, there are expensive drugs that back up the immune system and make sure that other viruses like the most common killer of those with AIDS, TB, dont get in.

Yes they did find something in Jack fruit. It seems to have the something in it that can help fight against AIDS. I am not kidding.

Maybe it's taking them so long because they're still trying to cure breast cancer, which kills a lot more people than aids every year, along with other diseases that people don't contract from behaving badly.
