If the cure for aids was cancer would you want the cure?

If someone who had AIDS was given the option to be cured if the cure was cancer I would imagine they would take it. Many of the cancers can be treated and some even cured completely to a remission with drugs and other therapies. Since there is no real treatment for AIDS other than pills to prolong the time they have left and no instances of a complete cure cancer is a better option than AIDS. Plus you can't transmit cancer like you can AIDS. I would imagine that would be a better outcome for everyone.

what? doesnt make sense but if in ur "world", this was possible I'll stick with cancer. Im sure I would have a greater chance of surviving cancer than AIDS...

depends on if it's a cure-able cancer. if not, then death is coming anyway so why switch diseases?

yeah because cancer has a cure ( well kinda) and HIV doesn't so i would have the cure

With the advances in treatment in HIV, it has become a chronic illness, not a death sentence. Now days, you live with it, not die from it as often. Life expectancy is similar to those suffering from hepatitis C.
So it would be stupid to want cancer, when with the right treatment, you can live with HIV.

I'd rather we had vaccinations that worked for AIDS, so we could eradicated them rather than cure, but unfortunately the HIV virus mutates too quickly, and as soon as a vaccine has been made and gone through trails, it will probably be ineffective, which is sad but, being the pessimist that I am, I believe that as soon as we get rid of them, something else will crop up.

Though it is nice to dream of a Utopian world; I know that many people are affected by it.

Tough question, it would depend on the type of cancer, the likely survival rate etc. however, i would still prefer a form of prevention in the first place.
