Can we call it a big failure that scientists still can't find any cure for AIDS?

This fatal disease and probably the worst epidemic in human history first broke out in 1981. It's been 26 years and still there is no cure nor any immunization. Aren't the scientists and medical field not given enough money to do all researches?

It really depends on your perspective. Many people speculate that because AIDS treatment costs are so high, like diabetes and cancer, that scientists are being held back from the cure to keep the companies that make those treatments rich

Another perspective is that AIDS is a very complicated disease and scientists are simply struggling to find the cure because the antigens can-not be found

AIDS is a very complicated disease because the virus kills the helper cell in the body. Without the helper cells there is no way the killer cells can come to fight with the virus cells.

Right. Investigation takes years and money. It s a recent desease and there is hope they will find the cure. as happened with many deseases in the past that doesn t exist today

its only a failure when they have given up btw have you contributed to the locating ofa cure for aids. in the meantime we are responsible for taking measures to prevent getting aids that includes no sharing of needles protected sex and just because you can have sex with multiple and random partners does not mean you should.

Who says they haven't? The conspiracy theory is that they have found a cure but it would devastate the drug and medical industry. So...the powers that be are keeping it under wraps. What does it matter to them that people are dying from it as long as they have all the money they need?

There will NEVER be a cure for AIDS just as there is no cure for any other viral infection! Once you are infected with a virus it's too late, the virus must run it's course, in the case of AIDS the end result is death.
One can be vaccinated against a virus such as polio and others, but that's not a cure, for it to be a cure it has to kill the virus in a person who is already infected, a vaccination blocks the infection from ever taking place.
Even a vaccination will be a hard thing to come up with for HIV cause the virus mutates so often and so readily!
