Is a cure for AIDS a good idea or would it promote sexual perversion?

I am all for a cure for AIDS don't get me wrong, but would this give people more of a reason to have reckless sexual activities. Isn't the fear of contracting the disease what keeps some people under control. I believe human beings created this detremental disease particularly homosexual men not monkeys in Africa, but rather caucasian white males. tell me what you think.

Before Aids came on the scene, there was probably, less recklessness, than there is today.

I am intrigued, as to why, when aids is more prevalent. in the African Continent, than anywhere else, that you have decided that caucasion, white males are the problem.

I think you have a point, and people may act more freely in a sexual way if there was a cure. But wouldn't it be "worth" it, to save lives? I think so. Millions of people die from AIDS/HIV every year.....so obviously we aren't too worried about contracting the virus, or else there wouldn't be such a large number of deaths caused by it every year. It would be great if they could develop one.

I think that it's a myth that it magically comes from homosexuals. I wonder how Africans got it after all. I mean it's ravaging that country, if only homosexuals have it, then does that mean most people in Africa are homosexual? but the question you ask is really a philosophical one... for example, having surgeons and medics in the military during war time means we have more soldiers alive, but that only means we have more of them to kill more people.... or improved health care and infrastructure means bigger cities and populations, leading to deforestation and overpollution

but its not right, i think, to use AIDS as an de-incentive to reduce sexual promiscuity... although we cant really trust human willpower to abstain, its the more humane choice

At any rate,it's running rampant now,a cure wouldn't stop anything anyone's doing,would just stop innocent people like my straight friend from dying. Your question is confusing, but I will try to address it.

A cure for AIDS would be wonderful. Africa has been ravaged by this killer. Innocent children have been orphaned by the effects of the virus. As far as the US, if people want to have sex, they will have sex. The virus may scare some to have safer sex, but sex will still occur.

I am guessing that you are saying homosexual white men are to blame for the spread of HIV not the creation of it, am I right? I believe you are wrong regardless. The virus has been linked repeatdly to monkeys in Africa where it spread by heterosexual contact. When it surfaced in the US, HIV was and still is a primarily gay disease, but Africa proves it could easily jump to being a heterosexual disease.

Who is assuming that all of the AIDS population got it from sexual contact?
The truth is that there are many who contracted this disease without being permiscuous.

I don't think the babies that are born HIV positive because their mom has AIDS were being sexually irresponsible reckless.

Second, people are having reckless sexual activity anyway, I doubt that the thought of disease has actually stopped one single person from doing what they want to do, people will find a way to rationalize. The one thing about it, whether or not I think that someone's sexual activity is reckless or not, I don't believe anyone should have to DIE simply to force my or your idea of "moral" behavior on them, withholding a cure would be doing exactly that and I have to say I don't think very much of your personal morality if you would even consider for withholding something so vital as a Cure for a deadly illness to promote your agenda.
Third, whether or not this virus was man-made or not, whether or not this virus did come from the Green monkey as originally thought or was cooked up in a laboratory either by mistake or on purpose, the one thing that IS certain is the FACT that the disease DOES have it's beginnings in Africa and was KILLING people there YEARS before it came to the US. Although a cure would be nice, I do think you raise a valid point. While the fear of catching the disease is evidently not much of a deterrent from engaging in high-risk behavior, a "miracle cure" would open up the flood-gates to sodomy running even MORE rampant than it ALREADY is!!!! So - it appears to be sort of a no-win situation, don't you think?

there is no cure an the world has never cured a virus. The only way to get rid of the disease it to let it die out. This mean don't have sex with infected people or shared needles. I don't mean unprotected sex I mean sex. The AIDS virus can go right through a condom like rice through a tennis racket.
