What is the most severe disease/medical condition?

Hmmm...just out of curiousity...

Personally, I think most people wrongly put cancer and AIDS(not that they are "weak"....they are super bad too). But some cancers can be cured and when it comes to AIDS...you are at least not born with AIDS and it kills you in about 2.5 years of what I know...which is a relatively short period of time compared to conitions that are inherited and you are born with the "curse".
For example, I just found out some info on something called DMD...duchene muscular distrophy(I am sure the doctors here are aware of that...). It seems to be a pretty bad thing: The person is born with that desease and suffering all the way to his 20/30s he dies in a wheelchair...it has no cure and it associated with pain.
I am sure out there exist many similar medical conditions.
Anyway, I am not an expert so...

Why would you want to know such a thing?

People with AIDS now have very long lifespans. Where did you get the idea that AIDS kills you in 2.5 years? People can live 20-30 years with AIDS now.

Dude there are so many debilitating disease out there today...there are too many to name that are really gross to the human body...! Like Lou g disease, dementia, latent lues, GC of the brain, worms-flukes, boils, etc.

There are some terrible things out there.. Ebola is scary, bird flu (if mutates) could cause a pandemic... ALS (lou gerhigs disease).... to many to count....
