Can u use cottonballs to aid in curing a yeast infection?

I have been researching the effects of tea tree oil on curing a yeast infection. it does work and does help with vaginal itching. But most cures suggest soaking a tampon in the oil and inserting. I do not have tampons so I was wondering if cottonballs could be used as a substitute?

I wouldn't, how would you get the cotton balls out once they are in there? Cotton balls fall apart. Use the tampons.

Yes cottonballs do work.

The symptoms (you may not experience all of them):
- white cottage cheese-like discharge
- some odor
- dryness (can cause bleeding)
- digestive problems
- itchiness
- burning urination
- painful intercourse
- a feeling of just not being "normal"

Here are some safe, natural cures you can implement.

- avoid scented soaps
- avoid sugars and complex carbs for a week
- air out the infected area while you're sleeping at night
- add grapefruit extract to your water during the day (balances hormones)
- eat probiotics like cottage cheese and yogurt
- shower frequently
-drink lots of water and eat plenty of fiber to flush the infection

Don't use cottonballs as a substitute for tampons. Tampons are cheap, so just use the real thing. However, rubbing alcohol is cheaper and you don't have to soak your va-jay-jay in it. Just dip a q-tip in rubbing alcohol and insert quickly. You should only need to do this once. Much more effective than tea tree oil. Also, you need to wipe down your sexual partner so you don't keep getting reinfected.

P.S. It BURNS like H3LL, but again, cheaper and more effective and the burning is over quickly (like 5 seconds).

Is better to use tampons than cottonballs. Is more easy to take them out. Also, you can leave them longer time inside. Tea tree oil is very good for releasing the itchiness of yeast infection. Other remedies are garlic, yogurt, honey or apple cider vinegar.

I really don't suggest that because they could possible get stuck up there and I would never soak a tampon and then insert it it is just not ment for that and could cause more problems.

i wouldnt as cottonballs dont stay together in 1 piece like a tampon does and you run the risk of it coming apart into pieces inside and not being able to get it all out and it may become infected

cotton balls may work if you soak them really good so they dont fall apart. also you might want to sew them all onto a piece of string so you can easily retrieve them after. you can also use sliced garlic cloves.

I wouldn't use cottonballs, they aren't the same material as tampons and would probably fall apart too much.

I have no idea. But I think I'd go out and buy the tampons. If you really plan on doing this, do what is suggested.
