Will there be a cure for AIDS in the next 10 years? unikely, the virus atacks the very system that would result in a cure. the helper T cells are invaded by the virus and destroyed as it replicates itself.Without the helper T cells the body cannot recognize other invasive and parasitic organisms and defend itself. some people of European extraction have a genetic immunity ( either partial or total) but that is passed down through the generations and cannot be duplicated . so in essence a cure or vaccine for HIV are both impossible. |
