Do you think that the use of money is wrong?

Hi, i have been thinking about this for a while.
The american government spend billions of pounds a year funding NASA for space exploration when they could be spending the money on research for cancer, aids etc. I know that NASA do research into global warming and that our resources are running low and they may need to find new planets and they study how to live in space. I just think that the money could better spent.
I read on i think on msn or yahoo that the iraq war has now cost 1 trillion pounds, this is a massive amount of money, now i don't fully understand the reason for the war so im not going into it but im sure they could have developed lots of cures if that money was better spend and saved lots of live.
Im not really having a rant about american government spending, im talking as a planet in general and governments and countries in general.
Does anyone else agree with me?

The reason for the investment in the Iraq war is the 54trillion barrels of oil.If you take a look back through History you will find the USA and in some cases Britain have financed,trained and armed militias,terrorist's and armies until they were of no use or a threat.Don't be blinkered by Governmental bull$hit Iraq,Afghanistan,Cuba and even the Third Reich were great financial investments.That is why there is such a great conspiracy theory for 9/11 and 7/7.

I do agree whole heartedly. For the reasons you have stated and for many other reasons unknown to outside of the US has made overwhelming disapproval rating for George W. Bush. He had brought down the US to a brink of economic collapse. We are all delighted to see him go.

My guess is that most governments in the world think of spending money to keep themselves in office so that they can not only improve the living standards of their people but more so enrich themselves even more.

Money is just a tool, how we use it is what is important, I get that, but you have to understand that the way money is used is controlled by a few, very powerful, people. They will spend money, often taxpayers money to further their own interests.

War is not a good use of money, but it does make those who own shares in companies like Haliburton (for example the Bush family), very rich. It is widely accepted that the war in Iraq is illegal and unjustified. The Defence budget has been discussed at great length by members of Congress and other representatives trying to find out how TRILLIONS can 'go missing'. Where is it going? Who is making a profit? There is more than one trillion that has been lost in fraud, waste and abuse.
