Could cancer be the answer?

I have theorized a possible cure for cancer.... i was thinking AIDs is a virus that attacks our immune system by attacking our helper T cells as we all know. Leukemia is a type of cancer that screws up all of your T cells and renders your immune system usless such as AIDs. so, if we were to induce Leukemia on an infected person would it erradicate the virus? Leukemia has been cured, aids has not. is it worth a shot?

Interesting theory.
But that is not all cancer is in the end.
Specifically Leukemia.

See, it reproduces White cells, but they are immature cells.
They are not productive.
Even if you somehow rid the aids weakened cells.

A) the aids would remain and attack again if you reached remission.
b) it would not get to remission because your immune system would shut down long before and you would succumb to death due to something as simple as a cold.

you should google what you just said because its already been done and it didn't work.

What did work is a man in the UK had AIDS, he then came down with Leukemia. So his doctor treated the Leukemia with a bone marrow transplant. And it seems to have cured the AIDS as well.

So you may ask why bone marrow transplants aren't being done more often to cure AIDS. The answer is a sad one. In order to have a bone marrow transplant the doctors must supress the immune system of the paitent to none exsistent and keep them in a sterile room for weeks which kills most people that have to go through it. But if you live through that part the bone marrow transplant still only has a 30% chance of not being rejected by the paitent's body. And if the body rejects the bone marrow in its weakened state the person dies anyway.

But in hopeful news bone marrow transplants have cured AIDS 6 times since the early 90's.

I don't think that is the answer but I see your logic. I think that a cure for aids would require a kill off of the infected cells but cancer I think would just compound the problem.

No, because AIDs voids your immune system, as in gone, so giving you leukemia would just be a double whammy.

I would think it would just make them sicker or even kill a person with an already low immune system

IDK, go get AIDS, then try it.

Ummm... no.

umm im not sure but maybe

yeah i think
