A question about God? |
I'm confused why God would bring his son to cure a few blind people, raise a few dead, turn water to wine, feed crowds of thousands, walk on water ect. When he could have been giving cures to diseases, maybe show them penicillin? How to be sanitary? Cure for AIDS? No... He shows off some supernatural powers for a few people. A savior should actually save people not cause more people to die and all things considered he ended up killing more than he saved. (Jesus's coming indirectly led to many dead through the inquisition and other holy wars) Edit - God would know all about AIDS and the future of humanity since he is all knowing. Yeah, he could have etched the cure for cancer into the side of a mountain, but instead trotted out a few parlor tricks and then allowed himself to be sacrificed to himself. Because it is a bunch of bs spread by the unscientific barbaric illogical morons that lived over a thousand years ago, and for some inexplicable reason, the tales are still taken literally today. The Bible is a giant fairy tale, and all it does is cause war, hate, and disagreement. Be logical -- religion is the most pretentious thing I've ever heard of. I mean, do we think we're so special that god listens to all of us, all humans? It is no different than when we thought we were the center of the universe. The man himself said that he'd bring "sword"...not peace. He saved everyone by coming. EVERYONE. People who died in the Holy wars died as a result of the choices of people not God. In any case if you do the research you will see that the number of people killed is pretty small. The miracles he did were signs to show that he was who he claimed to be. Death is just a deadline, nothing more. If you look past that, the gift he gave so that people could dwell with him for ever overshadows all worldly suffering. To quote The Infallible Sam Harris: When Jesus was here on earth people were ignorant, suspicious, arrogant, malicious, incredulous, superstitious, and stubborn. Jesus had to do things to impress ignorant people and show them in simple ways the principles of a good life. He showed incredible miracles so people would believe in Him. He did not show the medicine it self for the body, but He showed us the medicine for the soul and salvation. Now the wars, religious crimes, and the present genocides are made by men and not Jesus. He was after things that were bigger than curing a few diseases - our souls. Spiritualy speaking he was trying to give is bread to eat that would keep us from ever going hungry again, in other words trying to feed our souls and hearts. its along the same idea - I could ask God for a milllion dollars thinking that will fix everything, and say he does give it to me than what, sure I'll have lots of great things but I'll still have myself and even then there would still be something that I can't describe that I would still be chasing after. Like its never enough Please always remember this valuable information i am about to give to you, It is the most informant able information you can get and that is Firsts (God moves in mysterious ways) 2nd (Well geeze we just don't have the capacity to understand why god does what he does) And 3rd (It is a spiritual thing) Because Jesus came to heal the sick....the spiritually sick. You are concerned about saving lives on earth. He was concerned about saving souls for eternity. Saving a life on earth is pointless if the person goes to hell for eternity. I think His time was well spent. Ive read that first of all Jesus wanted to keep the profile down. The more people that knew about his miracles the more danger that would of put him in. There would of been people that would of wanted to kill him because they would of been scared of him. Second of all i also read that it wasnt his plan to heal people. Its more important that he died for our sins and he arose from the dead. The site i read this was from pleaseconvinceme.com if you were really interested. Even if he healed the whole world the next day he would have to do it all again. He would have to live on earth forever. He is a savior in the after life not on earth i guess. I recognize this line of questioning and you have asked this question before. Don't be so hard on J.C.--he touched a few lepers and made bread and fish appear once. Disease? Starvation? Taken care of! Let the man do his wine trick; it will change your life. Do a little research in other religions saviors...there are striking similarities with this figure and other faiths "savior". the work was done within the parameters of the game rules. Stop persecuting us with your logic! ill bash religion for you: the bible is myth and fantasy. get over defending this nonsense and accept reality! weirdos! That's just what you will get - few serious answers. Dear AIDS didnt exist in Jebus' time. God sent himself to be killed by his own creation to protect it from his own wrath. Jesus died for our sin so we could be forgiven and go to heaven. So your question was why did some people umpteen thousand years ago sit around and write a book about a man who did magic? A man who heard voices, and a man who bravely corralled 2 of every animal onto an ark he built? Hmmm.. I am thinking it was out of shear boredom. Pretty good book though...lots of violence and sex. Stephen King writes pretty good books like that too, why don't we get together and make the Church of Stephen King? The answer to your question on why Jesus didn't cure Aids is because Jesus never existed and there really isn't any proof he did, unless you always believe what you read.... Yashua Ha Nazar/Ben Merriam (AKA Jesus the Christ) was a reform essene rabbi who traveled to the east and northwest and studied Taoism, Buddhism and Druidism. Then tried to incorporate them into Judaism to curb the excesses of the Sadducees and the Pharisees. It was a Jewish movement inside the Jewish community of the roman province of Judea. The thirteen disciples and Mary of Magdalena were all Jewish and only preached to the Jewish community. Dear friend Daniel Dawkins, Are you forgetting that Jesus healed sick people?? |
