Is HERPES a form of HIV which can become AIDS?

i have had lil blisters on my buttocks for about 3 days now my appointment to see a dr. is in about a week but im just scared that it could be herpes and i know its treatable but not cure-able so i was just wondering if it is a form of HIV cause one of my friends said it kinda was.

The only things that they have in common are they are sexually transmitted and are viral.
If you have had Chicken Pox in the past this could be Shingles (Herpes Zoster) You should be able to Google some Herpes photos from a dermatology website. If this is the case then this is treatable but something else is allowing this to erupt on your skin meaning you have some other health issue.
So they are different viruses.Are you sure that they are not warts this would be far more common. If it is Herpes it may be from sex about a month ago because it takes some time to appear. About 1 female in 5 in the US has HSV 1 or 2 so you will not be alone. There are dating websites for people with Herpes so it is a completely treatable illness it just has a stigma attached to it.Good luck and make sure that you go to a STD clinic. They are much better at diagnosing these than the average general practitioner.

The answer to your question is no, herpes is not a form of HIV. However, that being said I will tell you that I was examined once a long time ago for a red patch of skin on my buttocks about the size of a quarter. It itched, but not tremendously so. I will never forget this because it was so shocking. When the doctor was examining me I asked...what could this be? His answer was "HIV or Herpes". I freaked! It turned out that it was Herpes...an old case, that I apparently had and didn't even know about. I had been tested before, but always received a negative. If you don't get examined immediately upon seeing something you suspect, then you can get a false negative. Keep in mind that your blisters may be other things, such as boils...this happened to me also as a teen. So try not to worry, but it is good you are going to the doctor. The best of luck to you.

HPV - Human papaloma virus, causes cancer and genital warts, also what the guardasil vaccine is for
HSV-1 and HSV-2 - Human symplex viruses, THESE are the herpes ones. HSV-1 is cold sores, HSV-2 is herpes, herpes

i hope it turns out ok, and remember blisters could be alot of other things. Even if it doesn't, there are worse things than herpes and you're for sure are not gonna get HIV from 'em.

HIV is a virus that affects the immune system. HIV attacks blood cells in your body and can take your life.
Herpes or HSV is the Herpes Simplex Virus (not human simplex virus). Herpes is a contagious skin condition which doesn't kill you, it's very inconvenient and out breaks can be painful. Herpes lives in the base of your nervous system waiting until your immune system is lowered enough to trigger a break out.

No its not a form of hiv however if you have herpes and have sex with someone with hiv your chances for getting hiv are higher b/c there could be an open sore.Good luck and if you absolutley must have sex before your married pls use protection. Herpes is yea you can say it's like HIV but it is very different from each other for one Herpes and HIV is both a virus (in which meaning you can not get rid of it ) but with herpes you can not get HIV and than later on get AIDs but with an STD you are more likely to contract this virus.

as far as i know they are not related. how ever contrary to the tv ad that say there in no cure for herpes its a out right lie. 2 different virus's... the only relation is someone with herpes is more likely to catch HIV when come into contact with it and someone with herpes and HIV is more likely to pass HIV on than someone with just HIV.. Any STD being present makes HIV more transmittible..

HIV\AIDS is caused by HIV virus
there is no relation between the two
