Why so many parents not do the bleedying obvious?

Ie in the teen section we have a parent worried about kid possibly doing drugs but clueless.

Dumfounded on that one seeing how much drugs have been part of the culture hor over 50 years.

And the odds are so heavily in favour of the parent having had friends at least to dope around her.


If i went to Austrialia the first thing I would do is study all the dodgy wildlife like snakes and spiders and cassowaries and crocodiles , stockpiling antidotes and educating the kids on the new commonsense safety and how to deal with a snake if seen or things like that and get clued up on first aid...


Ie homework for a parent 101.

Likewise if going to live in a desert, deseert survival.

If living in venice what kind of dumbass parent would not teach their kid to swim?


etc.


Now here a problem is drugs...

Very well said Max. My son is only 8 months old & it scares me to think what the world will be like when he is a teenager. I plan on educating myself & him about all drugs that are out there & hopefully he will be smart enough to stay away.

My immediate response to your question re: this problem in America is that way too many parents are too liberal and leave the child rearing to their au pair. That or laziness! You are right in every point you make.

Well said. But there is a thing called peer pressure, and all the education you give to your kids goes right out the window when they break due to peer pressure. They hear it and see it everywhere they go. Some kids are pretty good at saying no and some aren't. Just keep talking to them and being supportive of them helps sometimes too.
