Do drugstores match Walmart's $4 prescription prices?

My drugstore (Rite Aid) says they match any competitors prices on prescription drugs. Does that mean if Walmart sells it for $4, they have to do the same?

They don't have to do it, but most times to keep from loosing customers they will. I know with my daughter's Ritlan no pharmacy will match another because of the control substance law.

However another one of her meds they did match it for $4.

some do some dont, not sure about rite aid. many dont because they lose so much money on it, a lot of places cant even buy many of those drugs from the wholesaler for $4 per prescription, it would be cheaper to just buy their inventory from walmart and resell it; which is why i encourage people to stay away from walmart unless they are in true financial need. few people can afford to compete and its bulls!@#, they use healthcare as a price promotion so they can sell more crappy clothes and toilet paper, and act like theyre doing something good when theyre running people out of business

:You will need to ask them. Call them up and find out. If they advertise this, then this usually means yes, they will match Walmart's prices. You can't advertise something and then not do it .

No drugstore is going to lose money like that. But Target also has the $4 plan. Both stores require generics.

I am not sure if thet will match the prices or not. But I do know that the places that charge like $4 for a prescription limits that offer to strictly the generic version of a drug, they place quantity limits on the amound of the drug, and it is available only with certain drugs but not all of them by any means. It is still a good way to go as long as your drugs are included on their list. Saving money is usually a good thing! But not always, it depends.
