Has anyone had the "tape" instead of the gel to start an induction?

I was induced with both of my daughters, and both were with the aid of the gel to get my cervix "ripe" I am now going to be induced starting on Sunday, but this time the doctor said they would be inserting a tape into my cervix. I can't remember what the name of the drug used was it started with a c I belive.
I am wondering what to expect with this. The gel was not painful or uncomfortable, however I started having contractions every 2 minutes a few hours after it was inserted (unfortunatly they were not long enough to do anything and I still had to have the drip).
Anyone who has had this done, please let me know what to expect, even thoughthis is my third I am still a little nervous! Thanks for the help.

My husband thinks the drug might be something like Cervedill.
My first daughter had to be induced after 42 weeks, my second at 41 because her sister had been 10 pounds, and they estimated her to be as well.
I will be 40 weeks on Saturday and have had a lot of complications throughout and they are happy that we made it this far without having to induce earlier. Trust me I wish I could have gone on my own, but if the doctor feels the baby is safer on the outside, I will have to agree.

I've never been induced (too risky for my tastes), but if the drug they are going to use on you is Cytotec, REFUSE IT! It is a dangerous drug for pregnant women and should never be used to induce labor. And don't let your doctor snow you by saying that it's used all the time and it's just fine. It's not. Many women and babies have ended up with serious complications and have even died from this drug. Going into labor naturally is much safer and way easier on the body.

You can start taking Evening Primrose Oil now to help soften your cervix. That will make the induction easier. I hope everything goes smoothly and your little one arrives safely :)
