Conventional medicine or natural methods...what's your preference and why?

I'm split between the two. On one hand, I see that doctors know a lot and that drugs do a lot of good a lot of the time. But on the other hand, it often seems to be that these man made drugs are about the equivilent of putting band-aids on deep cuts - they make you look/feel better, but don't really solve the underlying problem.

Natural methods aren't as "clear cut," take longer to be effective, and don't really take care of specific problems right away like man-made drugs seem to.

Any thoughts?

Take the natural stuff... people have been relying on them for centuries, and there has never been suspicions about it unlike modern medicine. I mean honestly, a flu vaccine filled with the flu virus so that you wont get the flu anyway? I get the concept of having the virus to build up your immune system, but it just seems so contradictory to its purpose. So take the natural stuff, and if you have any complaints about it, you'll be the first. I doubt the herbs will come with a disclaimer saying WARNING: may cause soreness, exhaustion, blood clots, etc etc.

marijuana. so natural?

I would say that if you are in extreme amounts of discomfort or pain then take reg meds at the moment to calm the pain down but all in all that is just going to be temporary and you might become addicted to them. You should look for a natural way to heal your problem even if it is going to take a longer time. Natural healing always takes longer but don't eliminate the meds just in case the pain is too bad. GOOD LUCK

Think about it for a minute: None of the "natural methods" actually work for anything very efficiently, otherwise they (like all other drugs) would have been 'absorbed' into the body of 'conventional medicine', which, after all, is composed entirely of 'wacky ideas' someone had in the past that turned out to work 99% of the time.

The idea of "natural" medicine is just a marketing tool used by people too lazy (or too lacking, ethically) to prove a proposed cure actually works.
