Does Weed have any benefits? Does it have any negatives?

It is an illegal drug but people need it that have aids or have glaucoma.

what are the negatives of smoking weed? it seems to me people always over react with this.

what are the benefits? im in college and everyone does it. id like to hear what good it can do.

any difference when it is smoked from different venues? like a pipe, a blunt, or a bong?

weed kills... don't do drugs......

marijuana does help some people relieve pain and helps with certain eye conditions

but if your smoking just to get high, then its not that beneficial
its a lot like cigarettes, its bad for your lungs and a few other things. long term risks include turning into a pot head or hippie

Casual pot smoking is a waste. A waste of money, a waste of time, a waste of worth. Justifying it by saying "it's not that harmful, and definitely not as harmful as other bad habits people have" isn't saying anything. Bad habits are bad habits. And in the end, that justification doesn't have anything to do with the real question. Why do you smoke pot. You don't smoke pot because it's harmless, regardless of whether it is or not. That is a justification, not a reason. Why.

That's why people who have real drug problems, and do dangerous drugs with full knowledge of the negative effects and dangers -often do them anyway. Their problem is self control and self destruction. Smoking weed socially, or just for kicks granted isn't going to kill you, but if you consider possible negative effects, or maybe begin to notice a growing lack of self respect, it might not be as hard to let go of all these justification arguments and give it up simply to better yourself as a person, not just to prevent lung cancer.

It helps those on chemotherapy, who often feel nauseous, to eat. If you are going to continue, at least do yourself a real big favor and adopt the practice of eating it, instead of smoking, which is doing massive damage to your lungs, comparable with that of tobacco, and the carbon monoxide also contributes to reducing cardiovascular fitness, since it is taken up by the haemoglobin in the blood in preference to oxygen, so it's bad if you do sport or exercise. Dry it or cut it up fine, mix with an equal amount of healthy oil, like soybean or canola NEVER PEANUT OIL - SOME 5 TO 10% OF PEOPLE ARE ALLERGIC (so that it is quickly absorbed through the lining of the stomach), then add a tablespoon or two of self raising flour and enough water to make a thick paste or dough. In a frypan or oven, heat until lightly browned. Or use cookie or cake mix, but only if you have plenty of other tasty food: the munchies strikes suddenly!!! Best to only do one small batch each time. Takes 30 minutes for first effects, high in 60 and lasts 5 hrs approx. Economical. If there are no cooking facilities, get a small gas camping cooker (keep spare fuel) from K Mart or a camping & outdoors store and a small skillet or non - stick frypan. Teach your friends, and ask them all to tell theirs and to make notices and post them around the campus (don't get caught!) and post on internet chat rooms, etc. I gave it up after 3 decades, with no withdrawals or ill effects, and don't miss it at all. Hope you do it as easily, when you're ready, but in the meantime, spread the word about harm minimisation, and stay the hell away from crack cocaine, speed, acid, scag (smack, H), even ecstasy and any other illicit or drugs that haven't been prescribed by a doctor specifically for you. And remember, marijuana often reduces people's motivation and sometimes their higher mentation abilities, possibly permanently. NEVER get high and go out on the roads or do other risky stuff - it affects your sense of time, particularly hashish and hash oil, but also the more potent varieties.
