What if these could have happened?

1. What if Dale Earnhardt wasn't killed in the 2001 Daytona 500?

2. What if Dale Earnhardt didn't have that flat tire in the 1990 Daytona 500?

3. What if Steve Park didn't have the two crashes that injured him?

4. What if Tim Richmond never used drugs or had the AIDS?

5. What if Adam Petty wasn't killed in that crash at New Hampshire in 2000?

1. He'd still be racing today, as a threat to win races, no longer championships.

2. One more win in his resume, that's it no long lasting affects.

3. Much better career, more people might would remember him.

4. Don't know

5. He'd be doing better than Kyle, and worse than Richard.

Is there a point to this question? You can ask what ifs for the rest of your life, but it doesn't really do anything.

what if

1: I imagine Dale would have likely won a half dozen or so more races before retiring in 2004. He would still be at the helm of DEI and his son would have contended a lot harder for a title. Might have even won one. Tony Eury, Jr. would never have left the team and then returned.

2: Obviously, he would have won the race.

3: It's likely that Steve would have gone on with DEI and would be a good middle of the pack driver. Steve would have a career similar to that of Elliott Sadler or Front Row Joe. He was good but not tremendous.

4: Tim would have won at least one championship, probably at the expense of team mate Terry Labonte.

5: Adam was a draw for sponsors. He was so likable and had good basic skills. I think he would be in the middle of a good career. I think with the dollars he would have brought in that the Petty's would have had better quality cars sooner than they have had. Kyle would have already turned his seat over to another driver by now. Kyle doesn't seem to have the drive. Obviously, Bobby would not be driving for Petty right now.

What if questions should not be asked. Okay, well what if Adam didn't eat the apple, what if Jesus didn't sacrafice himself for all our sins, what if you weren't born. No more what if questions

Wow !!! Awesome questions to think about !!! It's kind of sad to think about what they would be doing today and realizing that they are all gone!

What if Ernie Irvan had never hit the wall at Michigan? He was well on his way to the Cup Championship, taking one away from Earnhardt. What if Alan Kulwicki had not died in a plane crash? If Davey Allison had lived to continue racing, he surely would have won lots of races and at least one or two championships, cutting into both Jeff Gordon and Earnhardt's win records. What about Sterling Marlin? If he didn't have to get out of the car for neck surgery, he was on his way to a championship also. This sport has tons of what ifs. Of all the drivers who had their careers cut short, Davey Allison was on par with guys like Earnhardt and Gordon. He made a big impression for the short time he was here.

I think we would have no car of tomorrow for sure, I do not think much else would have changed. Dale Sr would have one a couple of more races, Steve Park be mediocre at best, Adam Petty be a decent driver with a better team than Petty enterprises. We have no charity though in Adam's name and that be a shame.

What if is irrelevant, immaterial and beside the point because all that did happen and cannot be undone.
