anyone of you tat are curently employed bye eckerds- will your job still be there or are they talking about layoffs with new buyouts??

I think the drug retailers are doing this deal to expand, so the jobs that might be lost are the functions that are duplicated, typically corporate office functions. There might be some streamlining of things there, but increased activity requires more labor as well.

The distribution facilities are still needed to supply the store base.

Places were stores stand side-by-side may consolidate, but I would thing that expansion to new territories will compensate in time.
