What is the legal consequence for forging checks in WA State?

a relative forged her mom's checks for probably over $1000 bucks now. She's 32 now.. and has been caught in another county for stealing at target. She's also been aiding and abedding drug dealers (meth)... but hasn't been caught for that yet.

She NEEDS prison time no doubt to get a good idea of what she's done and to get clean... I'm just wondering what she's facing with the forging of checks - cause that's all she's been sent to jail for so far.

That's a felony no doubt. Possibly multiple felonies.
I would say the exact circumstances and impact on others would determine whether jail is in order.

Her attorney will probably get her into drug court.
Which is treatment and probation with a suspendid sentance ( threat of jail if you mess up).
Sounds like she NEEDS treatment, addiction is a disease, a cunning and baffling disease that tricks the people who are afflicted with it into behaving badly and believing in their disease as some believe in God.
It is sad, it is so sad.
I understand your frustration! But the only thing that will do any good to ignore her while she is sick and support her while she attempts to recover. Tough Love. Don't allow yourselves to be abused, that does not show supprot and only enables the disease to continue to wreak havoc on her life and yours.
I lost a close relative to meth for a while.
I didn't think she would ever come back.
The hardest part was the tearful promises.
All I could do was allow her,her right to be sad and to be angry then to just promise to be here when she was clean for at least 90 days.
She made it, lies and broken hearts have faded and now we go to N.A. dances together and all different kinds of fun stuff she has learned to have a good time without using.
It is a lot of fun to go with her to these functions.
The kids have a great time on the camping trips and they around people who have survived hell. The strength of some of these folks is amazing and insperational, there is a light at the end of tunnel. She just has to acknowledge it.

Anything over $500 , I belive in most state is a felony. It could mean a couple of years in the slammer.
