Things are the same as they have always been. The only difference is that are way more people, and far more media coverage.

Morality is increasing. The world is getting more peaceful, inspite of the news propaganda on CNN and BBC et al.

Depends on the atheist, thought I would say most of what you mentioned is not in most of their moral scopes. I can speak for this agnostic in saying that morals are on the rise as people talk about individual rights more often. It's the religious fundamentalists that reduce morality.

No, I don't think that the global morality is going down. It's only in heavily religious areas that it's going down.

Empirialism, Slavery, Caste and Class systems, Genocide, World Wars, etc. etc. etc. throughout history far outweigh any current "immorality."

I could go one by one, such as small pox, the plague, and other diseases thoughout history having been far, far worse than AIDS, but it is so obvious to any reasonably educated person and only willful ignorance would result in your conclusion.

1. Part of the reason AIDS has spread so far is the church's refusal to accept condom use as an effective method to prevent STD transfer, especially in Africa.

Aids spread through drug use can be drastically reduced by needle exchange programs, which is why Australia has such a low rate of STD transmission, and why the US has such a (comparably) high rate. The US insists that needle exchange promotes drug use, when in fact, the rising rate of AIDS infection indicates that these people are addicts and they're going to use drugs anyway.

3. Kids are more disobedient to their elders because we're not alowed to lay the smack down anymore. Back in the day, if you mouthed off, you got the tar beaten out of you. Now 5 year olds threaten to sue. Is beating kids morally correct?

People denying god...Maybe people are just wising up to the fact that religion causes A LOT of problems in this world and that instead of forcing our religious beliefs on others (i.e. the christians with their crusades or the muslims with their acts of terror in the name of their gods) we should all just live in peace and enjoy the ride.

The hidden assumption in your question is that obedience to God's law is what constitutes morality. Nothing could be further from the truth. The God of Abraham is completely imaginary and an abomination that has been leading good people to do horribly immoral acts for thousands of years. True morality has nothing whatever to do with blind obedience to arbitrary religious authority. Truly moral people use their own judgment to insure their own behavior is consistent with the human rights of their fellow citizens. At long last, humanity has begun to create civilizations where, "God told me to do it." is not a valid excuse for murder or other such atrocities. Times are changing for the better because reason and logic, combined with the highest literacy rates in human history, are finally beginning to triumph over the pervasive ignorance and superstitions of our bronze age ancestors. By rejecting blind obedience to superstitious authority, people are finally beginning to take responsibility for their own ethical behavior, which is the actual basis of true morality.
